Rego lapsed means what? The plate is no longer valid/in the system? Was it ever put on hold?
Has it been started at all during the time it was sitting there? Can it start now? Any rust inside the tank?

Did you fix the fuel supply to the carbs (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/153621-Honda-Spada-1988-VT250) then?

yes and thank you for your help .
I bought a entire carb from :Good Parts Ltd. fitted it and havent done anything else .so i still cant say whats working or not working but from my experience with bikes at these ages your going to need to get a new battery and clean a few things here and there
this wee bike was going to be a wee project but i will never get round to actully devoting any real time to it and i may be moving house soon . things are a wee bit too messy to be playing with this .
feel free to come over and have a look , i know queenstown might be a bit far for some people lol .

Go halves bro? You only want the front cylinder anyway!
Neat little Spada, still one of the better learner bikes

I keep thinking CAMS 250 class race bike, but I can't fit three bikes in the van, no room in the shed and my Mrs would have a conniption.
Please someone buy it and put me out of my misery :(

With an unknown engine fault, and a lapsed rego, I'd say 500 is probably closer to the mark.

Even that might be a bit generous given the above and location/cost of transporting the bike.

They're pretty neat bikes though, I'd probably pay that if I were local, but as you say, transport is too much of a hassel for me to make a serious offer.

Yes, I can see the potential..but only at the right price. OP might do better posting it on TM at a dollar auction....
