Frosty, a quick calculation, assuming races are evenly distributed on Saturdays and Sundays concludes that the probability of a clash is about 0.89 for the period specified (20 august 2005 to 7 of may 2006) given that there are about 18 events on your list.

I would rate a probability of 0.89 'very likely'.

By the time you get 26 items on your list the probability of a clash blows out to 0.99. There are a few assumptions in this model of course, (e.g. organisers acting independently, random distribution of dates, racing possible on Christmas and New Year etc…) but it does give you some idea.

Another event you can add is the VMCC track days 22nd and 23rd of October if you want.

Given the number of events and the number of organisers, acting independently, clashes will be inevitable.

Frosty, you mention that Paeroa is the 23 feb, thats a thursday?, i cant seem to find out when it is though, 19th is a sunday, if any one knows for sure can they let us know. Going to race again this/next year, and need to book accomadation. cheers, spinky.

Paeroa is always the third Sunday of February (they chose that because for X number of years that day has always been dry, and I don't think that in the 15 or so years it's been running that they've had a wet track)

I haven't got my 2006 calendar handy so can't check the date right at the moment. (I think I may have given the date to Frosty, perhaps I looked at a 2005 calendar instead of a 2006?)

Frosty - PMCC dates need to be, well, updated. It turns out that there's no meeting in December but there is one in January, on the 15th.

The Taupo spectacular is scheduled for the 28th Dec. Entry forms are floating around - can fax you one if you're keen. I thought you and Frosty had already arranged to attend this one?

23rd of April is a test and race day on the new International Circuit at Taupo, its not part of the Series, Entry forms are out Vic Club Members
$60 / non Vic $80.
