Not only are there motorists out there who have one broken headlight, there are also those who drive around well after sun-down with no headlights on at all.
Admittedly in most suburban areas the street lighting is so plentiful that having headlights on doesn't add much to the light thrown on the ashphalt ahead of the vehicle. However what these cretins fail to realise is that they can at times be completely invisible to other motorists when they leave their lights off.
Frankly I'm at a loss to understand how anyone could be so stupid as to drive around like this. Did someone change the road code and make lights optional after dark but mandatory during the day?

One thing that REALLY irks me are people who drive around with the park lights on. What's all that about? They're PARK lights, to be used when a vehicle is parked. When I am King, I shall decree that the switch for park lights shall be hidden in the boot, beneath the spare tyre...

Yeah especially dark coloured cages. I've nearly pulled in front of a cage cause I didn't see it coming until the last second cause it had no lights on and was black :brick: :brick:

I think officialy you have to have your headlamps on 1/2 hour after sunset. It is illeagal to drive with your park lamps on,they are for park purposes only.

Ya know my attitude to the one headlight cages is a bit different--I say Go you good thang.
My reasoning is that every one of those buggers make cagers seeing one headlight ask themselves--hmm is that a car or a bike?
They are seeing something anyways

Pretty sure they changed that in the recent revision of the rules to needing to have your lights on from sunset to sunrise.

You are a man after my own heart, SlashWylde! These two things are just some of the things that piss me off about motorists! I used to flash my lights at those who hadn't turned theirs on - some would wave to acknowledge that they hadn't realised they weren't on, but some would get quite shitty. One guy put his on FULL (complete with wanker spotlights) and kept driving towards me. Some just don't even seem to notice at all.
One trick I have tried with a little success is to turn your own lights off then on again - sometimes that works - but not always.
As for park lights, why do they bother - most of the time they are on the edge of the car so not very visible from the front. Dip or high, those are your options, mate!
One thing you haven't mentioned (yet) is the total tossers who drive behind you with THEIR lights on full. I don't care if I am two kms behind another driver, if I can see their tail lights, my lights are on dip, not high. One guy pissed me off so much that I ended up doing a U-turn and driving back towards him with MY lights on full!
