Can't make practice on sunday training church custodians and chair would be a bit noisey, haven't finished exhaust on it yet.

So who is in need of a 2Hr partner? I can offer a fast bike(TZR/FXR cross with the ZXR forks etc. If you know it you know it) and a reasonable A grade rider rider, although the geometry takes a little bit of getting used to. Might be good to get some practice in on it (this sunday is it?).
Anybody?

As I hinted in another thread Nick Cain (F4GP'12) moved to Auckers & works at Topmaq, but would need some warning to get his leathers shipped up to him.

yeah Henk likes posting threads about race meets & not putting dates on the title:crazy:. Well except the other thread for the 11th, that one is obvious.

The question is where's the beer & BBQ on sat night????

Henk
8th November 2012, 18:47
We're toying with the idea of dragging the BBQ at the track out of the shed on Saturday once the racing is over since people will spread all over the place after that. There is a meat shop just around the corner that we are going to check out this weekend and supermarkets not too far away. Thoughts anyone?

I'm keen to Co-ride if someone needs one - Also Henk is the Club Bike availiable? I still havent bought it a chain either mate!

Henk
10th November 2012, 14:21
John still has the club bike as far as I'm aware. He also has the chain that we gave him on your behalf. Rock up anyway, there are usually one or two people looking for a partner on the day.

Henk
12th November 2012, 18:25
OK for those that are still unclear (and too lazy to read first three lines ofthe attached sup regs :)) the venue is the Mt Wellington Kart track at 39 Tainui Rd mt Wellington. Round one of the north island series is on the 24th of November, the two hour is on the 25th of November.

Happy now?

Hi guys, Granma here from Shelracing. I love reading your posts, it has me laughing every time.

We have booked our accommodation at the Avondale Motor Park.
We are coming up Friday night and will be there Sat morning and Sunday.

A BBQ after racing sounds damn good Henk.

Thank you for posting the itinerary for the weekend. I dont suppose you have any costs for both days?

Henk
13th November 2012, 20:54
Will have more details on costs etc on Thursday night. Wild stab in the dark the sat BBQ will be a we supply the BBQ you bring something to throw on it sort of deal. We had a look at the butchers shop just around the corner from the track, not all that inspiring to be honest. Might have to send someone on a grocery run to countdown or packnsave as a last resort.

SHELRACING
14th November 2012, 06:49
Thanks Henk. I will make heaps of meat patties and throw them in the freezer. Will bring them to the track on Sat.

Henk
15th November 2012, 22:16
OK so here are the details as of tonight

Entry costs. $30 per rider, $20 transponder hire per rider or bike for the two hour if sharing.

If you sign up on Saturday the entry fee covers you for the weekend. If two people are sharing a bike on Saturday with one in B grade and one in A you'll need a transponder each, it gets horribly confusing in the lap timing shed otherwise. We'll take names to make sure you don't pay twice and will make a note in your licence on Saturday, if you get a day licence you'll need your copy as a receipt for Sunday. We will take the transponders back over night.

We'll drag out the BBQ after racing on Saturday as a BYO food and drink affair so if you want to eat something drag it along.

Try and get there and signed on before briefing because late entries become a monumental pain in the arse as we have to track down the relevant people and run back and forth to lap scoring to try and get late entries into the computer while timing system is running and it makes things interesting at best.

That's about all I can think of so if if anyone has questions fire away.

Henk
16th November 2012, 07:24
Oh yeah, the order on Sunday has been slightly changed. Now it will run B grade Le mans practice start, two hour practice start, B grade 40 lap endurance.
Everything else stays the same but this way people have a chance to fix their bikes if they go down trying to win the practice.

Two riders, each to do a minimum of 55 minutes. This is to stop some fast bastard riding pretty much the whole race no mates and then sticking someone else on it for the last five minutes.

Cotswold, bring your F5 that way you won't have to go looking for your excuse book when we stomp you into submission.

Tim, Tim, Tim, an example of a b grade rider is moi. I came second last year in the b grade race, and most people were only lapped once. You would lap us all how many times in 40 laps? You may be old, but you have not reverted to b grade. HTFU, and behave.

Come on Dave, the weather up here isn't that changeable. I've only once changed wheels five times in one day.

F5 Dave
20th November 2012, 11:19
Think the last 2hr I did up there it was bright & sunny at the start of the day, when we left 1/2 way through race having huddled in the tech shed - bike crashed to bits on 3rd attempt we almost didn't make it out of mt wgtn area. A depression in the road & blocked drains from the deluge created a ford up to the wheel arches on the van.

I've spent enough time in Auckland in the last 25 years to know to take wet weather gear out on the bike.

Well we live under the mountain and all we have done is get some water bottles filled. Dont much like the taste of sulphur in the water supply.
We have been smelling sulphur for quite a while down here. Nobody here goes into panick mode, just cruise along as usual.
Had a few earthquakes lately but nothing more than shaking the house.
Well we have everything packed up and ready. Just have to pick up Steve from work tomorrow night and we on our way.
Got the patties made for the BBQ too.

Must say, I am really looking forward to this weekend. :woohoo:
