Hey guys, just looking for some advice so I thought I would ask the knowledgeable bucketing folk. What do you guys use for quick release fairing bolts? I need to buy some for my race bike that has full fairings. I haven't started looking anywhere for these and I know there are a few different kinds. These bolts will be for joining fairings together and mounting fairings to the bike at mounting points. What's the cheapest and easiest to find?
Cheers

In my experience cheap ones take longer and a lot more effort to get the fairings on than decent ones.
The Dzus spring type d-ring ones that are riveted on are by far the best. They don't have to line up perfectly to work as they'll pull things into line. More work involved but once the springs are mounted they're the business.
Cheapish from any local bike store - Keiti QR17S (17mm or QR14 for 14mm and colours are S silver or K black)
Or ebay search for dzus panex

I'm looking for about 10 bolts I think. They are pricey as hell! Thanks for your help guys. If you have anything I could buy off you that would do the trick then I'm keen Bert!

You're not wrong. Worth it after fucking around with cheap ones for far too long though.

I drove around and asked around about 1/4 turn fasteners a while ago. Fortress Fasteners (MSL) were mean't to be stocking all of dzsus 1/4 fasteners so give them a ring...
I did find some kits at the car shop in lower hutt... 29 bridge street.. Its quite obvious what shop it has the chequed flags... Stop in there and talk to the guy. The kits include the fasteners and also the wire thingys what they go into.

PM me you address; I'll shoot you some down down next week (& I'll include a fitting template for drilling too make life easier). you shouldn't need ten though; six or eight at the most...
they are the flush mount 1/4 turn version; I was sure that I could hear the other type tapping away...
