Cows, which are a sacred animal in India, are fast becoming a major problem. Roaming the streets unattended, they are a frequent cause of accidents, as they have a tendency to lie down in the most awkward places… like the middle of the road.

In an attempt to ease the problem, the New Delhi authorities are offering a reward, equivalent to around half an average employee’s monthly salary, to anyone who rounds up a stray cow.

Sadly, the move has triggered road chaos in the Indian capital as bounty hunters on motorbikes compete to round up cattle. But they are proving successful… which has caused another problem!

The Hindustan Times said stick-toting "cowboys" on motorbikes were chasing cows all over the city and authorities were hard put to keep pace with the flood of strays being handed over to state shelters.
