I'm trying to help raise funds to support my hard working niece who is heading off to be an exchange student. I thought I'd try by donating my broken* 1996 Cagvia River 600 to the cause, perhaps not a brilliant idea but worth a crack. All money received will go towards airfares, accommodation, school fees etc.

* Broken bits: failed main bearing (I suspect - not verified by mechanic) also needs a fork seal and the rear brake cylinder sorted. Yes, I could potentially pass on a higher return if I fixed it first but I have too many other projects and not enough time.

The bike is in very tidy condition, 37,400kms. Registration is on hold. I'm not sure what its worth, so unless a reasonable offer is on the the table it'll just end up staying in my garage.

A single with two exhaust headers... That's a first for me! How's this one compared to other singles?

Engine is very similar in appearance to Yamaha XT600.

As to how it compares - I don't have enough experience to say except compared to my old GN ... being single is all they had in common. This bike has a lot of Ducati style shared with it and makes a great thumpy sound track, but now you have to block out the clattery sounds from the bottom end :pinch:

That's because it prolly is an XT 600 engine.

Ginnys are twin-port singles? Well I never... You learn something new everyday. The only single I've been exposed to was the Scorpio...

My cbx250 was twin exhaust and twin carb single.
