Just as it was happening, a cloud loomed in a spoiled the effect, but soon after, it thinned out enough that you could look straight at it....the visual spotty dots that followed were a bugger though.

I was wondering why the sky turned dark this morning. I thought it was just me tripping out or something.

Nice shot. One the the lady's at work suggested we used a bowl of water to look at the reflection. Worked a treat.

It got bloody cold and windy during the eclipse but the cloud was great for a short while. Didn't need a welders mask or anything.

It was cold - I was riding north from Wellington over the Rimutakas and up the Wairarapa when it happened - it was cold out on the bike ..
