Possibly not running?
Certainly not on a bouncy castle on tarmac.

Or even turn on the gas tap?

All runners are arseholes and should have their cars / bikes, whatever crushed. No exceptions.

That's a little harsh.

The damn fool could have dived down a driveway on the left side of the road rather than push the bike across the road and back towards his pursuants. Proof of the guys total brain fade.

Too many innocents just tootling along suffer from runners? The day the pollies grow some balls and make the cost of running significantly higher than the cost of stopping, the number of people being killed, injured, or having their property damaged will greatly reduce.

Actualy there should be some exceptions, eg stolen cars.

In essence, I agree.
I did 3 runners when I was younger. 1 in a car was successful, another other on my first bike, a Yamaha SR250 failed. And finally a successful escape on my 2nd bike, a GS650 Katana but ultimate failure when my hiding place was shared by a helpful citizen.
I've found that pulling over and accepting the consequences without being an arse to the copper results in a far less uncomfortable near future:Police:

Nope, I'm a father, husband and enjoy my bikes. I'd like to continue to do so.

Nice Nietzsche quote. Doesn't have anything to do with what I said, but points for getting it in there.

I didn't mention facts, my meaning was that you don't know what you're talking about.

No, no, I think he's got the official economic approach to traffic enforcement exactly correct.

It's about as appropriate as a stripper at a wiggles concert, but he's right on the money.
