Hi!
Anyone know if the exhaust system on a Hornet 250 (2005) is stainless or steel? Wanting to know if I should strip it and polish, or strip and paint...
Cheers

Eventually ended up stripping and painting. Looks good! That VHT Exhaust Manifold paint is the business.

Yeah, the headers on that bike aren't very nice to be honest. Lots of rust patches, not great quality metal (I guess they were painted from factory for a reason). I got rid of as much rust as humanly possible, and hopefully the manifold paint will retard rust growth for a few years.
Living in Wellington is quite corrosive on bikes...

Hrmm ok .... Mine were not painted ... mine were just factory stainless ... but then again it was a 96 Hornet so they may have changed since

Yeah I guess so. I could wait until someone crashes one and sells nice shiny headers on Trade Me ;)

:niceone: That high temp paint works well, I've got it on one of my bikes because Kawasaki are idiots and made fugly steel headers
