Many years to get this far, rideable now, but still some finishing off to do. Vote for me for picture of the week! :woohoo:

Well done...if there's anything harder to restore than a pressed steel frame, I've yet to find it.....

She's only a 247cc Two stroke, but it's not the cc's, just the size of the smile when you ride it!

It may have been Vern's once, I got it off Peter Ankers, who is now sadly deceased. Was missing a lot of big chunks, and was not a runner, but its come together well with parts turning up at different intervals over the last few years. The gearbox was stuffed and needed an almost complete rebuild, and even though it looks basic enough, this Albion gearbox is almost totally different to the three speed ones you see on the internet or at swapmeets. It was a one off design that was dumped the following year.

i saw it up Apiti about 20 years ago and knew he'd sold it latley, get hold of him anyway as i'm sure he'd appreciate it whether it was his or not, he's in feilding now, aotearoa wooden wheels

Cheers everybody, always good to have another old girl back on the road, Ashhurst Christmas parade should be its debut if anybody is out and about!

It may well of been Vern's, would be interested to know, I know him through my father, and I remember he had a Big X. The Coventry Eagle obviously had a lot of work done to it previously, but when I bought it I was told it had never run. It turned out the marks on the flywheel did not relate to any known timing marks, and when we re-adjusted it flew into life! The flywheel was obviously not off this model of bike, and had confused everyone (it has no key in it, and can be placed on anywhere).
