How the fuck do you manage to hold onto the bike while doing a hard launch without falling off the back?

Was heaps of fun last time. Was $20 or $40 from what I remember.
Well worth it. Just make sure you take some headgear for when you're not wearing your helmet. Plenty of burnt people after that day.

When I retreated from the sun, Christchurch's fastest cripple had run a 10.4.... not bad for an 11 year old bike in 29 degrees ridden by a one armed maniac :niceone:

He looked and rode with a heap more confidence than a lot of them other fellas, a pleasure to watch some of the riders doing good passes.
Pity that some could not read their lights, the amount of hole shot disqualifications was crazy.
In all a great days entertainment, thanks to the riders from here that took part.

...it gets hot out there I know, but that was ridiculously hot...was relieved when the V8 trike put me out of the running...couldn't have sat on the dummy grid?, waiting one more time, would have melted what little brain I have left...good time though...first time I have ever run the wrong way at Ruapuna legally... OAB is certainly no slouch on that Suzi...

Wow what a blast, as imdying said it was 29 out there, no shade and standing around in full leathers all day. I'm knackered. But I exceeded my own expectations and won 3 of my races (out of 4). Can't complain with that. A great days racing. Prize giving soon, I'm not up for anything (except being a prized dick standing out in race rep leathers in a sea of black), but I'll go along to support those that did.

What happened to the guy on the purpose built drag bike, that had the ambulance and tow truck skirt down to the other end?

Euan Cameron was out there. He's probably got pics of most of you and is prepared to sell. I forget the exact pricing but I think it was around $50 for a decent package.
Good quality photos as well.

looks like the bike day this year is 26 oct
tomorrow there is a winter meet where anyone can race - there was about 10 bikes there a couple if weeks ago. might be a good chance to have a few runs
"
Gates open 8:00am
The winter Series is a great time for new drivers to come and try drag racing as it is a very low key affair. All newcomers are welcomed no matter what you drive or ride. Street cars just need Rego and WOF and a radiator overflow bottle, drivers just need a civil licence and approved crash helmet, long sleeve shirt and long pants or overalls. DOT approved slicks are ok.
Track Entry - $10.00 per person entering the venue
Racing - Street cars - $45.00 ($10 at gate $35 racing fee)"
