Hey, does anyone know a cheap way to transport a bike cheaply intercity??

I got my new bike over christmas and now need to get it and the cage back up to ackl for work :weep: from little old New Plymouth.

At the mo I was looking at borrowing the folks Rav and trailering it up, then bringing the Rav back down a week later and swapping it for my trusty cage.

This would cost about $150 extra in petrol so if freight is any more I will just follow that plan.

You will be lucky to freight it up for anything less than that. Looked it to it myself when moving down from Auckland. Might try some of the larger freight companies to see if they have backfill space. Might be lucky at this time of year - as NP is a destination for delivery NOT for distribution

I'm taking my bike up to Auckland on the 15th Jan. There'll be room on my truck for yours too. PM me and we'll work something out. Racey.

I have shipped my bike about three/four times akl-wellington-hawkes bay by furnature truck.
Cost about $60-$100. They will deliver to your door too! Pack yourself and prepare to wheel into the back of a truck.
I found it realy good value and a great service.
Efficient carriers I think it was? :) :) :)
