This morning I saw something you don't see everyday (well it's the first time I've ever seen it).

I'm not a car fan... which is why I don't own a car... And when people talk about cars and their car has this and is capable of that and blah it goes in one ear and out the other... it really bores me...

But this morning I was waiting at the traffic lights on Victoria St, that head down past Victoria Park Markets and Victoria Park heading towards NEw World... and I could hear what I thought was two bikers racing each other (sounded like they were hooning it hard), so of-course I turn around to perve at the bikes (After all they sounded good).

And it was actually two Lamborgini's (see thats how much I dislike cars... I can't even spell their names :weird: lol). They both looked exactly the same, except one was red and it was a convertable (with the top down at 6.50am :tugger: ) and the other was yellow but it wasn't a convertable... and other than the tops and the colour I couldn't tell them apart...

And they both stopped at the lights, revving up and giving each other the "I'm the man" look and when the lights went green they both burned off (wheels spinning.... smoke and the usual hooner attitude)... and the yellow one blazed the red one and left it in the dust...

Needless to say I wasn't the only one watching them and was snapped back to reality with people hooting at the cars ahead who had failed to notice the light for them was now green because they were staring at the flash cars speeding away...

Well anyway... nothing too exciting... but I'd never seen that before...

I don't particularly like Lamborginis... but they sure sounded nice... had me fooled (but then thats easy lol)

I'd say they were Ferraris. A few days ago I saw...actually first heard, then saw...2 beautiful  Ferraris, one red and the other yellow, driving up Queen St, one behind the other (like a mini convoy). Not often you see one Ferrari, let alone 2 together. Identical models so far as I can tell, not knowing much about Ferraris. Drivers youngish (30s?) yuppie types. Turned quite a few heads.......Thought it might have been some sort of promotional thing, or something. Anyone know the story? There must have been others who spotted them...or was I dreaming??? Can't see how you couldn't wanna own one of them..... ...

Of course I immediately hated the drivers, but that's only natural. Faggots....

come on kids, there is no doubt about it that these kind of cars are cool. I would have though that if you have a love for sports bikes you have a love for speed, the same primal urge that car lovers have (just dont have the balls to express it on 2 wheels). But after reading this i can see im very wrong. Can someone enlighten on the reasons for this, ie love cranking a fast bike but hate doing the same in a fast car??

ps if you arent sure if it was 2 lambo's or ferrari's law of probabilities would suggest 360's, would account for the high pitch note when raped

And willy1, it's a mutual hate. They're jelous they can't wheelie and get their knee down in a corner. We hate them cos they take up too much room and don't let us pass.. End of the day, all power is good power. Wether it come via 2 wheels (or one ;)), 4, 6 or no wheels.. speed and power are nothing but gud. big is gud. But then there's boy racers. And often they can be twats. Not all of them, but how do you distinguish between them? These guys aren't likely to be BRs, but BRs do cause us grief often cos of jelousy and/or inadequacy.

Eh... well I don't drive a car... and because I love speed doesn't mean I have to love cars (no matter the make of the car) otherwise I'd also like fast trains... planes and speed boats... and frankly... I don't care for any of them... only bikes :) :ride:

No not all of them and they have 6 litre highly tuned V12s it's quite easy to slide them around. Matter of fact those engines are half of what makes a lambo special.

I strongly believe those cars were Ferraris - you'd be stupid to hoon in a lambo in the city they have ridiculous side and rear visibility.

Yeah, we know - you said that already.

The Gallardo is a 5l V10 (based on an Audi design), 4WD. The Murcielago is 6.2l V12, 4WD. Those would be your two 4WD models, the Diablo's , Countach, etc were rear wheel drive only.

Even their tractors I would suspect were only 2WD? Did they make 4WD tractors back in the day?

Dont care what the fanatics here say, I like 'em (and that doesnt detract from the fact that I like bikes either). Could be tempted to a Gallardo if I had the mulah, but then again, there's a heap of other things I could enjoy if I had that sort of coin . . .

No the Diablo VT introduced in 1993 had 4WD. The 2WD's would spin up and disintegrate the Pirelli P Zero 335/30/ZR18s so 4WD was introduced to make the car a little safer.

yeah, there was a 4wd diablo.. don't know how many they sold actually. Wasn't the 'removable roof' SE 4wd too? Anyway, it wasn't added to make them safer. It was added to get the car moving quicker instead of sitting there and burning up the rubber

Having driven neither, i don't have personal experience. But the word is that the new Lambos are to much Audi and not enough Italian. They've lost a lot of soul.

Was hoping to bring one of these TVR's back (Tuscan) , unfortunatly they don't pass our current import laws as they haven't been EU crash tested , The Lotus's would be a go , would make a good track car , the Exige hasn't dropped in price enough yet (22k pounds S/H). 355's are cheap compared with NZ , have seen them as low as 50,000 pounds or around 125 k nz early Diablos vt's aren't much dearer either. :gob:

And often they can be twats. Not all of them, but how do you distinguish between them? These guys aren't likely to be BRs, but BRs do cause us grief often cos of jelousy and/or inadequacy.

Really? Cos I thought Ferraris are cars for snobs.... Did you know Enzo used to limit sales to those who he wanted to. Even the current F60 (Enzo) is only sold by invitation or application. The only reason he manufactured cars in the first place was for homologation requirements.

And there's an equal amount of heritage in Ferdinand's house too. Ferrucio may come from an agricultural background but it was Enzo being a prick that made him start lamborghini....... which strangely was what caused Farboud to create the Farboud GTS when he was told he couldn't buy an F60

To do that get a Lotus Exige - would be a lot more fun in the real world and they should be faster than your average Ferrari with very little effort.

That's nice but ever since I was about 5, I used to drool over most Ferraris (specially the Testarossa and the F40 back then), so a Ferrari is something special to me. Then of course a Ferrari sound is the most distinctive and beautiful, whether its a V8 or a V12.

The Exige would probably piss all over most Ferrari's but at the end of the day, it just ain't as special, sorry. Why do people like Harleys or Ducatis? It's the same thing.

The F40 is :not: carbon fibre body with even the amount of paint applied measured to reduce weight. It only comes with one layer of paint.

Hmmm...have ridden in a Contach (spelling? can't be arsed checking...apologies etc.) when I was about 17 (funny, haven't been asked since...) and it was low, low, low to the ground (that's about all I recall - oh, and not too spacious inside, hate to have to put the girly-weekend-shopping-gear in there!). I was wearing a skirt (ah...it all starts to come clear now...) and I had to sit on the ground then LIFT myself into the car so as not to bare all...

but it went fast. Very very fast. Ohhh...so fast. We liked we did. Still think it looks like a cockroach though - so wouldn't want one myself.

If petrol hadn't hiked up, I was considering purchasing a Dodge Viper. Yummy, sexy car. Curves, sounds good, looks good, and goes fast. *sigh*

My mum once dated a guy who had a TVR 390SE (looks like the 350, but had slight engine mods), and he used to rebuild the V8 every few thousand miles. Went like fukin stink, and he was good at powerslides and drifting.. First time I had a ride in it, I calmly sat there, while he tried to make me wince. Didn't really work. After 30 mins of mind-blowing driving, he turned and said 'of all the people I've had in the car, half of what we did would have scared the shit out of them..'. My theory is, you get scared, cos you might crash. Well this guy loved his car and knew how to drive it, so I felt that he wasn't going to crash it, so I had nothing to be scared of.

2 months later, he was pulling out of a junction and gave it too much gas. The car span 4 times, mounted a curb and smacked into a wall, twisting the chassis in the event. The car was a write off. Guess my theory sucks a little.. shame, was a nice car. At the time, he investigated (cos the ins was screwing him), and there were 13 TVR 290SEs left in the world. not any more..

actually it was pretty well built. It didn't leak. It never dropped oil (could eat your dinner off the alu V8, shiny as a wankers' knob) and fired first time every time. Strange, cos I know how TVRs go.. Only issue was the alarm and imobiliser decided it'd had enough of life, so died. Not TVRs fault, cos it was after market. A good afternoon messing around had that bypassed, and it was humming again.. The sound of that thing makes you shake.. and the whole car rocked when it revved. And the smell of all that leather inside. Never forget that.. What is it about sports cars and the fukin horny leather smell they have?

I know it's not Italian, but how come no one has mentioned the Aston Martin DB9? One of the sexiest cars I've ever seen - nearly ran into something in Wellington on Tuesday because I was drooling over one parked in Waring Taylor Street!

I've always loved cars, long before I knew a Mini from a Morrie Minor! I have been known to walk into lamp posts while admiring a Testarossa or a Diablo. They had a gold Diablo at the Big Boys Toys show in 2001. My husband couldn't drag me away! Mind you, I'm the same with bikes - spent ages working out how I could justify spending $85,000 on a second hand MV Augusta in Motorad - the really trick one! This is also assuming I could grow my legs so I could reach the ground on it!

I love bikes AND cars - to me there are a lot of similarities - some bikes I think are ugly and don't handle very well, and there are many cars the same. But then you get works of art like a Britten or the MV Augusta or an Aprilia, etc. - or a DB9, a Diablo or a Mercedes AMG...
