Dumb drivers

I can't believe just how stupid (or inattentive) this car driver was this morning.

So - I'm coming through Ohope to work, and two cars back is a police vehicle. (I was in the Terrano today 'cause I need to take more stuff home than I can carry on a bike). With the cop there I'm sitting on the speed limit (also cruising to Paul Simon slows me down.)

Over the hill to Whakatane, in the passing lanes, there are road works, cones and 30kph signs. I sit at 30kph. The car driver behind me, and in front of the cop, is looking impatient ... we get to the end of the road works (cones stop) but it is still a fair way to the 80kph sign ..

The car behind me immediately jumps to the right, into the passing lane and floors it ... He must have hit more than 80kph before the 80kph sign ... which means he is way passed the 40kph over the speed limit ... I can't believe it !!!

And guess what .. the blue and red lights and siren come on behind me and the cop is onto him ...

Dumb fucker. Either he was not looking in his rear mirrors for quite some time ... or he was just plain stupid ...

It amuses and disturbs me, that I'm not even slightly surprised.

I passed a cop on the northern M/Way one night not so long ago..I had caught up to him and sat a few car lenghts back for about 10 Kms.
He slowed a bit (inside lane) and I kept at 103 and edged passed him...just as I got in front, on went the lights and siren.
Ah well, lets see whats up?...he just wanted to know why I had passed him? and explained that he knew I was doing 110 before catching him and was will to let that go.
