NZ Warbirds Pearl Harbour Open Day

Not exactly about bikes , but anybody interested in machines powered by internal combustion engines might appreciate. Ardmore airport ( Papakura/Clevedon ) is holding an open day tomorrow , 9 Dec 10am to 4 pm . Entry $10 adult , kids under 14 free. Will have the worlds only flying (thanks to Kiwi ingenuity) mosquitoe .

Weather is supposed to be good and it's a nice ride out in the "sticks" .

Unfortunately, we've got other commitments today but Ardmore is a great place to visit and the people who run it are terrific. We were out for a run in my wife's car recently and decided to call in on spec. Unfortunately, it was on a day when Warbirds were closed but someone was in the hangar and invited us in anyway. We were even allowed to bring my wife's car from the car park round to the taxiway for a photo op with the Mustang and I also got invited to climb onto the wing and look inside the cockpit of their T28 Trojan by the pilot who was getting it ready for a flight. How nice it is to meet genuine enthusiasts in this commercial world :niceone:

Agreed . The weather was brilliant and the being buzzed by the mosquitoe was awesome :niceone: . Saw quite a few bikes out and about .
