For most of the year, my hands (or more importantly fingers) cope fine with the weather. As the temperature drops, I tend to go for gloves rated for their warmth (such as the superb Pathan Evo). However, when the thermometer drops around the dreaded zero mark, even these need a helping hand (no pun intended). Once you’re looking at sub-zero conditions, the effect on the fingers is harsh: the cold bites into them, making them stiffen and seize. If that happens, your control is drastically (and worryingly) reduced as you cannot work the levers effectively and quickly.

To remedy this, I bought a pair of Frank Thomas Anti-Freeze inner gloves. The packaging claims they are windproof, thermal and breathable; all desired traits.
