My 1983 Honda CX400 Custom is missing on the left cylinder. I think it may be the carburetor but I can't figure out how to remove the carburetors. I have removed the tubes leading into the cylinders so the carburetor pair is flooping around but there dowsn't seem to be enough room to get them out. The repair manual says pull them out from the left side. Does anyone know how to do it?
I don't know that the problem is the carburetor but I replced the plugs, swapped the coils and the pulsers and nothing changed so I am figuring maybe its the left carburetor. It runs but sptters and farts and carries on and doesn't idle properly.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I managed to get the carburetors off. I see now that the trick is to remove the two rubber carburetor inlet tubes. That gives you just enough room to get them out.
