I recently bought a SJ125 Scooter and have had intermittant electrical problems,The battery seems to drain even though everthing is switched off.Sometimes it will start fine but when i get back on after stopping all i get is a click as if there is not enough power to turn engine over but headlight works.
I took battery off and charged it fully and replaced, bike started fine but 100 yards down the road it died and i lost all electrical power, the previous owner had bypassed the ignition which was broken with a simple on/off switch I was wondering if this might be faulty and cuts all power off.
Anyone any ideas?

Check how many amps are being pulled from the battery at rest. I've seen it before where inadequate switches were used, and eventually they've given up the ghost, passing a few milliamps or more. That sort of constant drain will hurt the battery eventually.

If you just whacked the battery on a charger without actually testing it then the battery could be rooted... If the wiring has been played with well then thats the first place to look after you KNOW the battery is OK....
