Word of mouth is the only advertising worth anything.

All the rest is just stuff you can do without anyway, which is exactly why the annoying pricks push it so hard.

If it needs advertising,,you don't need it !

If advertising didn't work, do you think companies would continue to pay the massive $$ it costs? Radio advertising is expensive!

I handmade most of my gifts this year. The grandkids may be initially disapointed I didn't buy them the latest and greatest plastic thingamejig like I usually do. I'm hoping a few years down the track, when I'm no longer around, they may appreciate something made by their grandad.

I'll throw in some lollies to sweeten the deal.

They'll fall into depression.

Thats why if I want to watch anything on tv, I tape it so I do not have to listen to some plastic fuck trying to sell me shit I have no interest in. Same with radio, I only listen when they have the ad free hour.:Punk:

i don't own a TV, so that halves it.
i've never heard an ad and thought "i'm going to buy it", if anything, ads put me off companies.

Hardly Normal ads have def. piqued my pissed off. aswell as bri$coes and lilly from big save furniture.
they will never get my business.

Also, i will NEVER buy form magness benrow in auckland, every time i'm there i hear their godawful ads.

beer ads used to be good. still wouldn't encourage me to drink *gag* speights.

Sure it works for some sections of society.

I'm not part of that section.

Nobody said it doesn't work.

Some of us have simply had a guts full of it is all.

Now rush off an buy the latest 4x4 with twin over head fox tails "tooth brush",,,,you saw on the box last night.

Mind you,,,you could always save your money until next week when the new improved version with "three" over head fox tails hits the market.

If you pay for music media on the net, (or just steal it like most people), there are no ads.

I wonder why that is? Oh yeah, ya get nothing for nothing!

There's only one thing worse than the crappy ads, the crap that gets played between the ad breaks,

If my wife dies before me, the tv's going into the ground before her. She can take it with her.

I think you're one person that explains why Harvey Norman (two-letter abbreviation HN, not HM) shouts. Spaces before fullstops, exclamation marks and commas are unnecessary. They're a "fashion" indulgence that six-year-old girls, who also dot Is with little hearts, use. Radio, in the context quoted, isn't a proper noun and doesn't need a capital letter, and ads is is a contraction for advertisements, and doesn't need an apostrophe because it has no associated possession.

I'm pissed off by poor English usage. Ads? Who cares? Just turn the volume up.

I use the mute button when ads appear and watch movies and documentaries on Sky, mostly.
Ads suck but you don't have to listen to them :msn-wink:

Broadcasters have finally 'fessed up to broadcasting adverts at higher volumes than the programmes that they accompany.

So ad makers are probably getting clever and raising the volume within the advert.

And those who say there aren't adverts on Sky are blinder than a paraletic meth addict in a coma. Every 5 minutes it's an advert about fucking sharks or deadly fishing reality shows.

I like those ads you get on YouTube or Facebook that apparently tailor themselves to what your tastes and interests are.
They're completely on the piss, because Facebook in particular keeps showing me advertisements about joining the Mormon Church. Anyone who knows me personally would realise what a joke that is.

I also like what this Banksy person had to say about advertising esp. in public places.

Tis the reason I stopped watching main stream TV and only watch what I want on the internet (using our big screen tv as a secondary monitor).
No ads, no bullshit, just interesting docos and movies that I want to watch.

Those yelly fuckin ads sent me over the edge I decided to put my freeview box away.

Windows Media Center + DVB-T or DVB-S card is what you need to skip ads.

I use XBMC (Xbox Media Center). The only thing I watched on "TV" in the last 3 months was Dr Who on boxing day.

I find the TV and comercial Radio basically insulting and don't use them or their services anymore. Advertising media had lost me as a client, real life is much more interesting.
