That looks like fun

Latest gripe about the rip off ACC system (sorry about that). Basically I am pissed off and letting off steam so if your sick of moaners this is your chance to quietly back away from the thread :bye:
My wife earlier this year almost (yes almost) fell off her beloved 650 Boulevard  a car pulled in front of her on a roundabout :angry2: she grabbed to much front brake and came to a halt off balance
Instead of letting the bike drop she pulled it back upright :sweatdrop Due to the fact she is no amazon warrior (but I love her anyway ) she sprained her back.
Saw the GP, registered the injury with ACC, sat round swallowing the painkillers they gave her and started to come right :woohoo: then one night she missed the bed (honest I never moved it and thats all the questions your allowed ok) and landed on her very nice bum, the result being back not so good anymore.
Soooooooooooo....... (if the story is too long I am sorry but thats the way it is sometimes) she goes to a chiropractor, he takes xrays and 500 bucks then jumps on her and she has been in pain ever since, apparently he was very (Tui Add here) concerned as he had never had anyones spine move that far or heard a scream that loud when he jumped on them, he was really sorry (another tui add here would be good) and gave her a nice back rub :brick:
But wait there is more!!! She then went and hurt her back again picking up the clothes horse and carrying it inside. You would think she would be more careful when doing womens work but nooooooooooo .
After another (partially funded ) visit to the GP and it is decided to send her to a Specialist. Not a bad idea at all as by now all she can do is live in the lazy boy arm chair and cry because of the pain she is in. Its been almost 6 months of pain since the first injury so yes, she is getting a bit down.
Specialist sends her for an MRI and opps, four broken vertabrae in her spine (yeah four). Have I mentioned that by now the ACC case manager phone calls have started? You know the ones, "when are you going to get well? Why arnt you back at work? all those shit calls that make you so pleased to be recieving such awesome service after all that you have invested in the wonderful ACC system over the years, ah what the hell, stick another Tui Add in here)
Fortunatley the wonderful specialist decided she might have a pre existing medical condition that has caused the fractures?
Bone density tests reveal she has Osteoporisis :crybaby: Now I wont tell how old she is as I still use my testicles ocasionally but she is not an old woman. As it turns out a major contributing factor to Osteo is long term exposure to steriods, in particular one type that is used in a certain type of Asthma medication, prescribed for my wife by (yep you guessed it) her GP. 5 minutes by me on the internet researching Osteo told me she needed to get off the shit, so how come a fully qualified pill dispensor has had her on it for thirty feckin years!!! :angry2:
Sooooooo................. (but wait there's more) ACC decide that as she has a medical condition that has CAUSED her vertebrae to break, she is off ACC and back to work as far as they are concerned.
So to sum it up, after a series of small oops (going back to January 2012) my wife goes to an ACC provider for treatment (the chiropractor)
He takes xrays, then performs what they politley call a "manipulation" putting her in so much pain she cannot move from a lazy boy chair without help to stand, walk or even go to the toilet)
She further aggrevates the injury by picking up an awkward object
MRI reveals 4 broken vertabrae (hang about, how come the xray never showed them, I thought these chiropractors were back specialist? Maybe they werent there before the xrays!!!!!)
ACC throws her off there books because she has Osteo
ACC wont even pay for Physio
Osteo never broke her Vertabrae. In my opinion an ACC provider did (the chiropractor)
She may have developed Osteo at a later stage in life anyway (some woman do), but scientific proof shows that the medication prescribed to her by an ACC Provider (her GP) contributes to an early onset of Osteo
Even though she can no longer claim for ACC if she breaks a bone but we still have to pay the shit.
Osteo does not break bones, yes it makes them easier to break but accidents is what breaks them. Thats what ACC is supposed to cover. Because of ACC all the providers who have contributed to fucking (sorry about the use of french) up my wife get off scot free, They cant be held accountable as ACC removes the right to sue.
11 months later, she is still in huge pain, cant work, is on the verge of tears almost constantly and I am feckin angry :angry2:
On the plus side, the Chiropractor gave the $500 back (least he could do, the prick)
