Actually, this may turn out to be one of the better Christmas I've had. Usually I was stuck in my parent's takeaway up to midnight (or past) prepping for the usual massive family do. This would be the time when my parents would get rarked up and fight like cats and dogs. My brother usually pissed off since "older brother will take care of it". Absolutely detested and dreaded Xmas time.

Now, the shop is sold and this is the first Xmas I can recall when voices weren't raised. Also helps I'm in my own house now ... being bloody chinese has its own unique culture cringes!

Damn you got some cool shit... setup and walk away too. Pony lego took hours. 3 sets of it. Daaaaad, where does this go, Daaaaaad, I can't be bothered any more, Daaaaaad she took my horse and won't give it me back. Comes this time of year I wishes for boys n cool toys... Anyways, I've got an IOU for a beer fridge, one with tap on it that'll save me feckin around with bottles and keep our fridge clear for food. The question is: buy a fridge and convert it, or spend twice as much and buy a purpose built one... hmmmmmmmm.

Just back from socialising in Coober Pedy, mucho home-made red vino drunk in an underground house (a 'dugout') and much hilarity by all involved, a nice 33 degree night.

It was 33.9 degrees C here yesterday and it was "bloody" hot!

Not a hell of a lot of movement about after all the food drink and hilarity was over just ... :yawn:

9pm Sunday night: baby daughter starts throwing up. I've got a big last day at work and planning to make an early start so wife stays up with her.
3am: I hear my boy crying so get up to investigate. He's puking too. I'm sent back to bed. Not feeling great myself but I'm sure it's psychosomatic, so back to sleep.
5:30am: alarm goes. Bugger. Up and shower. Feeling bad but sure I'm just tired. Lie on bed for the next hour... Finally get up and get dressed. Goodbye to wife who's had about 1 hour of sleep and cleaned up numerous spews. Out to garage.... Where are my boots?... Hmmm best get to the bathroom quick-smart.... Bluuurrrgggghhhh. Nope, wasn't psychomathinggy. Back to bed.
9:30am wife texts my apprentice to say I ain't coming in.
11am: wife goes out to buy supplies.
11:05am: Son pukes copiously on carpet. Get him outside and sit with him for a bit then go in and attempt clean-up. Doesn't go well as I go into round two myself, but at least I have the decency to step outside and do it in the garden. Shaky knees, aching stomach muscles and cold sweat.
3pm: baby girl is box of birds again. Me and the boy, not so much.
6pm: manage 1 pancake for dinner. Son has low blood sugar and exhaustion induced meltdown.

Christmas day: feeling better but fragile with headache. It's 103 percent humidity and spends half the day raining. Christmas lunch with close friends is postponed and we're told best not to come see the rest of my family at my brother's house. Quiet evening watching tv. Wife has glass of really awful wine (gift). I sip my lucozade.

Boxing day, 8am: other sluice opens and virus purging begins.
10am: baby daughter pukes on me. Awesome.....
3:30pm friends arrive with our Christmas present.....
4pm: ...... Eat Turducken with all the trimmings. First proper meal in three days, so eat cautiously.
5pm: assemble son's Lego for him.

9:20 pm might cautiously crack a different bottle of wine.
