Talk about lucky, this guy was just out for a afternoon ride when a tractor pulling a trailer pulls out in front of him. A combination of skill and luck saved the day. Good to see the rider put it behind him and carry on with his ride though.

'Driver pulls out on front of idiot rider' is the CORRECT thread title.
Seeing as how the rider seems to have learned nada, zip,,nothing from the experience...

I've just endured 5hrs of Boxing Day sales with two daughters, only to come out of the mall to find it's raining. So I'm bored.

Trolling aside,
The power of litre bikes never ceases to amaze me. From 50kph to ridiculously fucking fast in no time at all. I imagine it would be extremely hard to legally ride one with that much hooligan power at your disposal. :eek5:

I've had a similar experience, back when I had the ZX12, on the straights south of dargaville. It's amazing how much ground you cover at that speed and how much it actually takes to pull up. You have to look very far ahead, as that guy was. He did everything right, no probs, carry on

Idion bullshit. The tractor driver had plenty of clear road for that manoeuvre. At that speed if there'd been a collision the rider would've been completely at fault.
Having said that it does look like they were very much aware of what was going on around them so all good, nothing to see here, move along now ...

Nonsense, when I had a warped perception of reality, 200kph was a normal regular occurence. Cornering was much easier with both wheels on the ground too...
...Then I had a flash of brilliance standing in front of a judge pleading my case for a work licence. Funny how things like that are etched in your mind? The bikes I ride now can barely do 200kph and I've got more money in my pocket (well, it gets spent on farkles instead of depositing into the Government's Westpac bank account).

Agree. Road was long and reasonably straight, as long as he is hazard searching a long way down the road (which he evidently was) and is able to pull up in time, Fanny is your uncle, everything is ok.

Save it for the track. There, I've said it. You can all stop holding your breath now and carry on.

Not that I'm actually condoning it (I certainly wouldn't do it), however, we have no knowledge of the rider's state of mind other than the fact that they pulled up in plenty of time to avoid any unpleasantness and carried on without so much as a finger given to the tractor driver. Can't say I saw anything that suggests this rider is actually dangerous. There are far worse things done well under the speed limit.

OK, I'll bite.
... The power of litre bikes never ceases to amaze me. From 50kph to ridiculously fucking fast in no time at all. I imagine it would be extremely hard to legally ride one with that much hooligan power at your disposal. :eek5:
It's all about control (no, the mental one). Go back to playing with your little one Glowerss.
Having ridden real powered bikes and gutless bikes over many years I know which one I would want to be riding in the (sometimes life threatening) situation that requires real power NOW!! They do occur & luckily I was on bikes with power on most of those occassions in my past. We need to have ALL options available. Yes, I've dropped a bike due to too little power! and I've had someone driving on my numberplate and been unable to escape - no, a civilian. I've also been hit from behind and survived and got away from a gang-packed ford trying to ram me from behind. None of these were good experiences for me but they are some examples of the need for real power and the ever present need to be aware of your surroundings (way in front AND way behind).
Doesn't matter if the law says you're in the right, if you get hit you're most likely dead. Take it to heaven (or hell) court - oh, hang on, one of those exists on this plane of existence!
Very. Very. Hard. Stupid that you can actually buy one.
I think you have a decent bike but go back to playing with your little one. It's all about control (ours, not theirs).
I hate it when you are finding the top end of your bike and shit like that happens. Thumbs up to him for not letting it phase him out and he took off at a rate of knots.
I would suggest he was nowhere near the top end (of the speed) of his bike.
Nonsense, when I had a warped perception of reality, 200kph was a normal regular occurence.....
Nah Gremlin, you're fine, it's the 286 minds that are warped. They're incapable of processing data above 104km/hr (some would say much less)! They also try to carry out multiple cpu functions with only one small processor and generally fail.
Summary: I'd rather have too much power on tap all the time than to have too little power on tap and need lots of power to get out of a bad situation.

I've been riding my thou for the past 7yrs, it's probably the bike I've had the least tickets on (self-control) and the bike I've been the fastest on.
I would suggest he was nowhere near the top end (of the speed) of his bike.
Really? How fast do you think a standard litre bike can go?

Glad that's sorted lol. Top end means nothing to me, in fact in the time I've owned my bike I've never maxed it out, seen an indicated 290+ once or twice but that shit doesn't interest me. For me, corner speed and thrust out of corners is where it's at.
