you could try the ZRX Owners Association forums.. (www.zrxoa.org) or the zrx owners club (http://www.zrxocboard.com)
Very Helpful..

I would expect them to be jetted differently if they are the same body carbs, and perhaps even different cables/hoses etc. There are a few online 'fiche' type sites which should give the part numbers, though these sometimes change from year to year for identical parts anyway. iYRe's suggestion is probably the most definitive.

ZXR250A/B/C/D run the same carbs, minus jetting (we never had B/D here anyway, some had flatslides)
I'm certain the ran different needles in the C and restricted C models.
They're all D30 series though
Are you needing some carb help?

Yeah following on from that thread in the tech area where you posted some helpful info for me. I can get a set of carbs off another ZXR250 for cheap so I am thinking of getting them in case I hit any major snags with mine (I figure it helps to have a source of some spares).
The guy says they are off a 1994 ZXR 250A which in itself doesn't make sense, but if they are all similar then I may get them...

With what I have read .. 94 and after 250 models were restricted due to changes in Law in Japan at that time (from 45 HP down to 40 HP). What the actual restrictions were, you may need to find out.

How cheap?
Carbs are expensive. If yours are going fine and you're not planning on keeping your bike past the apocalypse then you may very well be better off just carrying on until you get a new bike.

I want to open my existing ones and clean them as well as put shims under the needles are it is possibly running lean cos of the custom muffler install on the bike. I won't go into specifics in this thread as there is another thread with all the details, but there is a hesitation issue currently around 4 - 8k rpm. Just in case a gasket is buggered or whatever when I open the existing carbs it would be nice to have some spares in case...

Jetting/needles/diaphragm springs, cams, thicker headgasket, CDI unit were all changed in 94 to the units used in the ZR250 Balius (little nekkid bugger)

I'd say buy new gaskets if it does go tits up, they should be the same bowls as the CVKD32 on a bunch of other biker, but don't quote me on that
You're more likely to come across some sad screws on the carb bowls if completely stripping them
Get a maginfying glass and check the needles for wear and the needle seat/emulsion tubes.
Clean the float needle seats with brasso and a cotton bud
Look up keihin jet on trademe and there's a seller who specialises in carbs (forgot the name, great to work with) I think their webiste is smebike? They'd be ideal to talk to
If the carbs are uber cheap, use them to get used to playing with carbs, set the float heights etc etc
They're very, very simple though :headbang:
