One can hope their roads are better than ours, but they didn't really look like it later in the vid. Amazing to watch tho!

The roads arent any better than your average NZ secondary road. However there are some BIG differences to NZ roads.
Irish roads are VERY narrow... no U turns over there,
No luxury of a nice clean edge to the verge and a bit of grass run off...NO a horrible feathered edge where soil and tarmac sort of meet (a bit like a cattle crossing)
And in most cases NO grass verge... the hedgerow/vegetation grows over the road and trees arnt planted nicely a few metres to the side.. they are on the roadside.
The one thing that really strikes you is the CLOSE proximity of everything to you..even in a vehicle.
I went back to the UK (which is the same) last year after 10 years of wide Aussie/NZ roads and was startled by how narrow the roads appeared even to me.

These guys are VERY SPECIAL.

Cheers for posting. I love watching road racing, it's off the planet compared to tracks. Thing that gets me after watching that kind of footage is you then hear the riders being interviewed talking about how they were only at 8 / 10 ths or riding with a bigger safety margin due to road surface or wind or whatever...
