In typical kb fashion after last years pages and pages of bashing the Cemetery Circuit this year when it all ran So so different and in very tough conditions with rain on and off there's yet to be a 'good on ya' here.
I'll say it though
GOOD ON YA Wanganui for putting on a great event and GOOD ON YA competitors for not smacking yourselves on the road as much as last year that caused much of the mayhem..

having been involved in the vic club when we ran lyall bay and gracefield street circuits i have much respect for team that puts this show together.
1) everything has to be organised beforehand regarding the set up of the circuit.
2)At the same time a race meeting has to be organised.
3)A huge ammount of work goes in to building the circuit
4) A race meeting is run
5)The circuit has to be repaired and maintained
6)The circuit has to be dismanted

Actually I think you may have been a bit premature on the presumption there Mr Spyda, some of us have just got home and had no chance to get on here yet!

You are right however, the day ran as good as it could have IMO considering the variable conditions. I thought it was a huge improvement from the previous round and well done to all involved. I can't imagine the time and effort logostically it takes to organize a street meet!

I would like to esspecially pay tribute to my side kick and main lady for being a superstar all day changing rotors/wheels/tires and not missing a beat! She deserves a medal!

My first time at the cemetery circuit, it was a great day, shame the rain set in at the end...anyone know why the restart in the first F1 race?

First time that I've been to the Cemetery Circuit, and I would have to say that I thought it was great. Well organized, good show, lots of spectators, lots of bikes and riders, and a good time had by all (well, me at least). Yeah, the weather wasn't perfect, but they dealt with it the best the could, and I would be amiss if I didn't add my "Atta boy!" to those who organized and manned the event. Definitely want to go back next year.

Great to see some of the old faces in the legends laps.
Seeing Robbie Dean going around on an old Suzuki grinning across stupidly at Croz, gunning the throttle was priceless.
Im glad they were in street clothes, if theyd been in full gear it would have been all on until one of them ran out of gas.

Agreed Jelly, what with baking heat one minute and tropical downpours the next the competitors and organisers outdid themselves this year.

Congratulations to Dennis Charlett taking out the series and commiserations to KB's own Choppa who only just missed out by 3 points riding like a champion to be throughout.
Fantastic also to watch Wanganui's own Jayden Carrick and Ashley Payne getting a win each in Supersport 600. And Richard Dibben taking out the Motard series.

The only downer was the cancelling of the Robert Holden Race as it was almost a betting certainty on Nick Cole finally and deservedly getting his name on the trophy.

someone jumped the start then some of the other riders put their hands up in protest as i understand it...........
i thought there would have been a bit more hoopla considering it was the 60 year thing...........apart from the parade lap and the merchandise shirts you wouldn't have known any different really...............still a great day.......cheers to the organisers, marshalls and the racers

There was a get together on the xmas night and a reunion dinner boxing nite with about 100 attending, it was advertised in last years tri series programe and from then on throughout the year.
the 50th was a different beast as there was a few hours practice on christmas day that allowed more events in the overall day and a half program.
after last years delays etc the management thought long and hard on how much to push the 60th promotions on the day and whatever they did would've cost time somewhere.
next year is 60th anniversary of Sidecars in Wanganui and there's word of a celebration around that...

Neil Ritchie and myself, i called it as a ER6 based machine and the programme had ZX650, Neil though it could be a four chopped to three, apologies that we don't know every detail of every bike on the track, and every detail of every competitor either...
we both made a point independently during that race to tune into the sound and work it out ourselves.

the gumboot grand prix wasn't his first time either, Kevin Crafar, simons old man suggested he pick up the mic and he's still travelling the country doing it.
Great to have guys like him in our sport.

I heard it went well so agree with the OP. Looking forward to Paeroa this year, too.
