Couldn't pick 600's it but I'd say top three Supers will be #1 Sloan Frost, #2 Robbie Bugden, #3 Dennis Charlett. Its a tough one though cause if Andrew S is there he will be up in the mix and depending on Nick Coles bike he has a shot at top three too. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

don't forget Nick Coles been the most consistent Kiwi in the last couple of years on the track to head off Stroud...
Jimmy smith put on a good show at manfeild, pre crash that is and then there's the quiet quick Ray Clee.
125's dont have a big feild but I reckon that'll be a a tough one to pick too

Choppa for superbike. Hassan for supersport. Bently for pro twin. Berrington-Smith supalite if the bike lives up to the hype without tucking out. Hammond 125gp. No idea about the ninja cup. Annan for sidecars if they run, otherwise Max and Burt (I think that's what they call Michael Wolland, but I'm probably wrong).

No idea about the other classes. Lots of names I don't recognize.
Anybody attending the meetings should stop by Rob Berrington-Smiths pits and take a look at the bike he's built. There's going to be a lot of 2 stroke fans collapsing from lack of blood to the brain.

OK.. here goes i will be first to stick my neck out (wondered when this thread would pop up
F1
Sloan Frost
Dennis Charlett
Nick Cole
(if Andrew is healed up proper he will be in there - Think Nick is starting to get the package - havent included Robbie as my heart would like to see a NZ 1/2/3)
600 S/Sport
Jake Lewis
Jaden Hassen
John Ross
( Been a long term supporter of Jake - but Jaden will be his nemisis - look out for Cam Hudson at Ruapuna & Levels - watch Seths progress/ especially if its wet)
Superlight
Neil Smith
Richard Newberry
Jason Nairn
( would expect Rob B-Smith to cause a major upset if he is there)
Protwin
Dean Bentley
N Southerwood
Hamish Murphy
( This is a title our team would have liked this year..but circumstance prevailed - Think consistancy willl be the decider this season and Deans the most consistant - H Murphys a bit of a dark horse)
125GP
Troy Gunther
Kyle Hammond
Tyler Lincoln
( This is a hard one cos i think consistancy will be a factor again - Shame Zane is not at 1st round - would love to see Scout do well but lack of tracktime maybe her undoing.
250Production
Bailie Perriton
Luke Burgess
Alex Bowers
( A no brainer for my first choice as he is my rider - but beating Luke is gonna be a mountain - i dont think G ramage is doing levels otherwise would feature in there - Alex deserves a placing based on results this year.
Sidcars.............. NFI...... Probebly Annan for the win.

#79 Harris
could be a big group fighting it out below that and even 3rd, 4th, 5th should be pretty close, as far as I know Scrivy and Bob are out after the Wangas crash but you'd never know until the day otherwise my money would be on them for top spot

Lets not forget Vic Clubs very own Rogan Chandler getting fastest lap on the 150 with some pretty tallented locals around him...
I know first hand Andy Mac is fast, and Jock Woodley... Well, yup, that fella can still ride a bike for sure.
Sadly he could only claw up to he back of a 3 way dog fight to finish 4th once he found his groove, but watch out tomorrow....
Bailie Perriton rode a well deserved 2nd to Luke Burgess (Aussie) in the 250 Production class too....
Feel sorry for Tyler Lincoln, and Kyle Hammond.... Aaron Hassan didn't have the best of races either. Lack of track knowledge must really hurt on a 125.
another day tomorrow though.
Look forward to the coverage thanks to Grant Collingwood.

Sitting here with Rogan Chandler now. It's way past the little shits bedtime but he can't get his head through the bedroom door. Nah, he had a great day and clicked with the track. Excellent work for a first-timer here. GirrrlRacer is starting to get some confidence back, and is hoping for further improvement tomorrow.

Done mate. Yesterday we were the only ones not to be using slicks. Kyle Hammond and Choppa donated some for Rogues, and Steve Ward gave us a very sharp deal for Mihi. Everyone wanted to see an even playing field. Rogues rode like a Demon today. Hamish had a blinder as well.
My picks.
Superbike
1 Sloan Frost
2 Dennis Charlett
3 Robbie Bugden
Edit: Craig Shirriffs would be on my list too but the gremlins seem to like him too much.
Supersport
1 Jaden Hassan

3 Jake Lewis

Tough one for me. Would love to see Deano get his title but Hamish has done too much riding this year and is only going to get faster as he adapts to the new bike.

No idea but Glen Orwin will be in the mix.

2 Scout
3 Kyle Hammond

For anyone that cares, i am having my first summer holiday with my wife after many many years.
Summer holidays are much over rated Glen....and too much time with the missus leads to trouble in my experience. Nevertheless i hope the weather where you are is as good as it is down here.
Got to practise on friday and had a look at the Wobbly built F3....very nice and seems quite quick too but lack of knowledge of the circuits won't help. And a rider who seems a very nice guy but must be at least 6 foot 7 inches tall.....
Don't know who it was but I watched someone on a 250 prod which looked like a Kawa, backing it in to the hairpin....impressive, one to watch.
General standard of presentation seems up this year too.

Yup, the backing it in is a result of the soft front ends they tend to have.... (It would kave been a Kawasaki Ninja 250R/ EX250)
Great to hear people are taking the Nationals seriously and presenting themselves and machinery well... a great start!

So do I.
I have been campaigning a 250 Production Bike (Formally 250 ProLite) for 2 years now.
It has been a lot of fun, and have enjoyed racing against some talented young lads.
It is awesome to see them step up onto bigger bikes and do very well for themselves.
That said, the racing is so much fun, if you want to race on a shoe string budget, then there is always plenty of competition in 250 Production. I am looking forward to more, as so far it has been awesome!

...a big black cloud about five k square that was obviously producing a swag of rain was the only feature in the southern sky this morning as we got closer to Levels approaching from the north...yip, sure enough right above the track...made an interesting start to the day, two hours of heavy rain...Craig has come to win, he showed that today...he was knocking on Robbie's door through the dipper last week at Ruapuna and today at Levels he showed he wasn't just knockin'...a real cool day at the races. Scout Fletcher on the 125GP bike showed some real mature racing skills to work her way into second spot after having to make up places from her first row start positions, she led the last race from Troy Guenther at times to get a second, all weekend...Tyler Lincoln had a bad luck weekend getting blown off the end of the straight and today after a good first race had to retire on the warm up lap of the second due to a broken clutch lever or some such silly little thing...Dan Ornsby's lack of horses hasn't stopped him being at the sharp end of proceedings in the 600's, more horses for next week tells me, look out boys...they are the ones I rode 600 k's today to see do well...

Absolutely, he really must have pulled the pin from his qualifying times. Timaru is a riders track (imho) and a keen rider has a chance to make up for any machine deficiencies. Go that man! I've not been in contact with him for a while, do you know why he is not racing his superbike Glen?

Sayin the weather looks dodgy at Teretona is a bit like saying tyres cost too much, allways has been, allways will be, if the forecast looked outstanding, I wouldn't believe them, you just know whats coming.......
Great track, suck location!, dig it up and bring it some ways up the Island

First year of the SI Cup, the poor bastard leading the bucket race had to do an extra lap in the driving snow cos the starter slipped on the ice rushing out to red flag the race...everyone else pulled straight in.
Hypothermia is an ever present danger there - I've said for years there's permafrost over the back.
Nevertheless it's nice place on the rare day it's fine....
