Something a little different. We have a CB92, however, it does not go very fast due to the fact it has no engine! Dad had this bike from new, but when someone back in the 70's asked to use the engine in a homebuilt bike it was promptly taken out for that purpose, it was then completely wrecked and thrown away!

So now we have everything minus a motor, it will be quite rare, but you never know, maybe someone out there has an engine for one of these and no use for it. We can swap or buy, so would be keen to hear from anyone, as these were little beauts in there day.

I am doing this on Dad's behalf, so give us a message if you can help or have an interest in these machines.

You could probably slap a CB125 motor in it?

We like to keep these things as they were if possible. Might be lucky to find one though, our sources reckon there are only two in the country, ours being one of them. Hoping back in the day some engines came in for other reasons, or one has been trashed in due course of its life!

There were a fair few of them made (24k or so). If you could source a C92 engine I imagine it'll fit
To my knowledge the CB125T (early points models) fan the same motor, maybe with different gear and kick start levers.
They run the same bore/stroke but I'm not sure if the CB125 has the extra crank bracing of the 92.

Good luck finding parts, they're pretty sort ofter overseas, but I would expect there to be a few more then 2 in NZ

A useful source for part numbers etc http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb92-benly-super-sport-125-usa_model1002/partslist/

Sweet bike mate. Sorry can't help with the engine though. I guess you have tried ebay and the likes? Could try David Silver too but i'm guessing you already know all of these.
You have any photos? Would love to see it. Probably belongs in a collectors mueseum.
I thought there was someone of the forum asking for recommendations for a painter as they were looking at getting their old honda repainted.
I can't remember if it was a CB92; but it was definately pre-CB77.

Good luck!

Hey Seymour I was the guy asking about a painter to help restore our CB92 also a C71...
To be honest seeing as the bucket sidecars are stalling again I have decided to once again finish off the restro of the old Honda's.
I was just talking to the old guy today about getting a trailer and picking up the bikes to bring back to auckland.
Our CB92 is complete except for mufflers, everything else is there, we got some over size pistons a couple of years ago on ebay and had her running up and down the drive until the old clutch cable snapped, since then its just been pushed around the old blokes shed gathering dust. We did have a couple of spares but engine wise I think we may have a couple of cases but not much more.
Next time we meet for the buckets I'll see if I can get a list together for you of anything we have spare.

Have not checked on this thread for a bit. Did not realize so much had been happening!

The bike is now in hand, will need to track down some parts out of the CB92 clubs website in England, but enough there now to get it moving again!

Thanks to all.
