I want to improve the suspension on my 2001 Moto Guzzi V11 Sport Rosso Mandello.
I' ve got a budget of about $1500 to spend.
If I replace shock and new springs the only brand I've found is Hyper Pro ex Australia.
I'm not a hard rider. Mainly day rides with odd ralley with tent panniers & tank bag.
I know that Ohlins is meant to be the best but I can't afford the cost

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Already answered to you via regular e-mail and well within your budget. Ohlins are only made for V11 as oem supply to Moto guzzi, not available as aftermarket for that model

As eluded to you and for general information to anyone else reading this thread we can improve Sachs rear shocks by fitting Ohlins pistons, valving and springing. That doesnt quite make them an Ohlins but effects a huge improvement at a very affordable cost. Our suspension dyno also assists immensely with such work, something that our competitors totally lack.

I'd say Robert knows best here... You can tweak the forks but because of that great lump of a final drive swinging around on the rear wheel you need the best rear shock you can manage....
