Are the ones I know of. But I remember a while ago I read about some website in America that ships here?

I think this is where my shop-a-holic man gets alot of his stuff from.

spend a couple of hours checking out the net, hundreds of shops available, plus of course trade me. (yuk)
select what you think you like, then come back and question on here if anyone has had experience with the shop of gear.
That way you should get good product information, and recommendations on shops for the wealth of experience and honesty that is KB..:killingme

The difference with this thread is, Parlane is taking the time to collate the web links into the first post. No sifting/sorting/scrolling to be done. Any other thread should be linked to this one in my opinion.

They're wholesale though so probably don't want a bunch of end-users banging on their door.

I found these guys last month, they have a small shop in Westgate, round the back by the trade entrance to PlaceMakers, http://motorcyclegear.co.nz/

Indeed, but the thread calls for online stores, and I have used these guys recently and their helpfullness was outstanding, to the point of reducing the price of my purchase by $50 because a slight discrepancy of a Shop price V Online price.

Hi guys, just to clarify...at Touratech NZ we carry a lot of stock here in NZ and are very local, we are not an overseas based store.

Nothing is shipped out of Germany, Germany is manufacturing and shipped to us in NZ as the local distributor. The kit we don't have in stock is normally for stock that has been sold out or special unique or rare orders...but just to clarify we do hold a lot of gear here in NZ (Primarily for the key brands and popular models and usually received here in NZ within 2 weeks)

For January we are also doing a special for Kiwibiker Members!!...10% off everything on our website as our opening special.

Over the next 6 months we will be appointing a dealer / reseller channel that you can obtain what you need within your region. We will update the site as this progresses.

Thanks all, great thread for people to find what they want for their machines :-)

I've updated the links to reflect your reply.

"Our intent is to hold as much local stock as possible however we will be shipping the majority of our stock in from Germany." <- is right there on your about us page, so you may want to change that if you now have most things locally :)

Also you have no contact details that feature a New Zealand address or phone number.

Contact number right there on the front page: 022 10 12 14 1  - we also have a PO Box mailing address here in NZ. As we are the distributor for Touratech we don't have a retail outlet so cannot post a physical address.

We do offer over 6000 line items so difficult to hold everything here in NZ...but we do hold the primary parts for the key models. We do ship the majority things in from Germany however as we build out profile demographic we will carry more and more of the relevant gear.

I suppose just clarifying, we are not overseas and we are local. :niceone:

Also I decided I wasn't going to link Trademe as surely everyone knows about that one.

I had a quick look and it would seem the gear area is best described as a Trademe* dedicated to motorcycles?

The list above I was thinking is best for eCommerce sites, sites dedicated to the sale of New motorcycle gear.

Trademe with only buy now*

Might pay to keep an eye on the motorcycle alley site - big things happening. , It has a dedicated new gear section for Guys and ladies. The aim is to have many retailers list on here so it is a one stop shop and buyers can access all products with ease, also links to retailers web sites and dealers/retailer links all here. Lhe dealers page area is similar to what you are trying to put together but more formalised. Cheers and all the best

Thought I'd give a run down on the sites in the first post to help other in the market for new gear. I'm after a textile jacket....
The quality of most of these websites is shocking  I'm just getting back into biking since being a teenager and it's so frustrating trying to use these rubbish sites after spending most of my internet days buying guitar related gear from really good sites.

www.qmoto.co.nz
ok, very little stock.

www.1tonne.co.nz
good, easy to use.

http://www.motozone.co.nz
ok. can't sort by price. no sizing charts.
I got a pair of gloves off these guys. Courier left them in the mailbox (fastways)... manufacturers (which I had to find myself..) sizing chart said I was an XL based on palm width, they were way too small. They gave a full refund including post which was good of them.
Incidentallly, all manufacturers should really take finger length into account on glove sizing charts, I'm an XL by palm size but need a 3XL to fit my fingers in.

www.torpedo7.co.nz
Really really really good site. shame it's mainly pushbike gear :crybaby:

www.motomail.co.nz
Easy to use. reasonable selection.
Has generic sizing chart, not great.

The rest are freaking terrible, I wouldn't even bother...I feel bad for the people who paid money for these sites
(none of the rest have sizing charts)

motorcyclegear.co.nz
can't sort by price (well it says it can but fails..) can't see price until you go to item page..If you want to find something in your budget you must go to every items page to see it's price

www.bits4bikes.co.nz
Terrible categorising, you can't view all jackets.. only all jackets produced by a single brand:facepalm:
No prices until you click into the item..

www.motorcyclegearnz.com
Doesn't appear to even sell online....
same retarded pricing flaw as two above.

www.touratech.co.nz
Jacket category appears to be well stocked (72 products).
in reality it's 1 hood, 1 collar and 4 or so jackets shown in every size available:facepalm:
They expect you to buy a 2.3k jacket with just the marketing spiel to go off. no sizing chart or specs

www.motoone.co.nz
sim. to touratech; 91 jackets in category....but about 10 different jackets.
The best feature is that you can sort all products by any one of 50ish colours...:whocares:

www.cycletreads.co.nz
terrible.

Why do they even bother? They're the equivalent of a brick and mortar shops where all the products are randomly mixed throughout the shop, no items have pricetags and you can't try anything on

You're welcome.
Good to see your glove sizing takes hand length into account. If I had bought my gloves off your site I wouldn't have had the hassle I did with motozone..

However, I don't think I'll buy a jacket off you, your sizing chart only has chest size... It tells me to get a small and I'd guess it wouldn't fit so well on my 6ft (albeit slim..) frame...You can't get accurate sizing based on only one dimension, you need more measurements, height, arm length ect eg alpinestar's sizing chart.

Fergus, thanks for the feedback and we have taken that onboard...clothing is one of those things we have paid no attention to...we have focused more on the bike than the riders clothing

Cycletreads.
I have in the past ordered online and got what I ordered in reasonable time.

I placed an online order for some tyres some time ago and after a week or so I sent an e-mail. No response.
I rang them. He said he would check it out and ring me back soon. No phone call.
Some 6 hrs. later I rang them back. Got put through several people.
Finally they said they didn't have the front.
Its on their site as available online.
I have paid $$ online for these items.
Finally they said they will ring me tomorrow.

Why not say here is your rear and we have credited your card for the front.
Or even contact me and tell me what the problem is.

Q. Do I hold my breath or ask for my $$ back.
A phrase of arses and elbows springs to mind and shopping elsewhere.

I haven't followed through the entire purchasing process, so even so it appears to be a better effort than most in NZ :)

Your search my model result set is missing pictures for a lot of items, they're 404ing (missing).

These are examples of the URLs

http://www.fastbikegear.co.nz/images/Rgsite_new/HS0001RE.jpg

It's not polite to break into somebodies site and find them, but I would hazard a guess that the directory Rgsite_new should be something else? It'll be in the template for your search results, the fix will probably be a single line of text.

They have a small factory shop in Airport Oaks and also have a Trade Me store and always run a few low price Trade Me auctions - I won saddle bags for $51. The actual shop always has some end of line specials too and I've picked up some great bargains like a leather jacket for $99 and my wife picked up some camo kevlar pants for $60.

I bought some stuff for my DR650 from http://www.procycle.us/bikepages/# the shipping was reasonably priced and very quick.
Website is not the best design I've ever seen but well worth checking out.

Just bought some of these.....
I like the idea of the removeable braces......:) leather and camo, best of both worlds!
They look very well made and if they fit, I shall get another pair...

It is difficult finding adventure riding pants for us well built chaps, i.e fat bastards.....:)

Klim thinks we are all thoroughbreds and well sculptured like the quarry at Erzberg ;)

There are many sites as you liked yourself. If you are also interested in cheap, but great dirt bike clothes, then there is this dirt bike gear (http://motocrossadvice.com/dirt-bike-gear/cheap-dirt-bike-gear/) site which has quite good insights aswell.
I have bought all my gear from BTO sports, but occasionally I use amazon aswell.

What you need is a strong grip, while riding the motor bike, upon the handle and other operating mechanism. And to make the grip more firm upon the handle, the gloves plays the most important role. You can’t ignore the slippery grip upon handle, the brakes and clutch in the rainy weather and the good quality gloves are an ideal solution for the problem. Then the make and the quality is the most important things while selecting the appropriate weather dress for the bike riding. Remember; the leather jacket, trouser and the gloves are the most dashing styled set which attracts the youngsters most. Resurgence Gear has all these items and you order quality biker gear items from the.

New shop alert. Mate of mine runs it. Sells street style casual wear with protection. Good for city riding comfort. He sells them from First European dealership in Christchurch.

FC-Moto delivered me a new leather jacket a couple weeks back. Price was too good to go pass with 40 odd % discount followed by a 10% one day special off the discounted price. Took a couple weeks to turn up - the on-line courier tracker showed very quick exit from the supplied and then stuck in Frankfurt for ten days and suddenly delivered.

I will purchase off them again in the future.

I too bought a jacket off FC Moto and would consider them in the hopefully unlikely event I need another.

I've bought a few things from FC Moto. They are fine as long as you're not in a hurry. They have regular specials, so if you see something you want, get on their mailing list and wait for the right special to come along.

It's really interesting.

The CE standards have declined in quality over the years, as manufacturers have designed products to get better ratings, while compromising on the things that are not tested in the standard.

I happen to like the Resurgence gear. Just not sure it's the safest in the world, as they claim.

.Any concrete proof to back up the claim at all? I'd imagine the Krauts and the Japs would take issue with that. Maybe I'm getting old but generally I'm suspicious of any manufacture that states they are the best at anything. Lately I've been getting back to basics of what I actually need to be relatively safe on a motorcycle in my little world.

Oh and I liked the Feminazi add on that site linked to from 2019.

The standard was so high at one stage that virtually no product got 5 stars. So they reduced the standard.

Now lots can meet the standard. They aren't any safer. The standard is lower.

It either passes the standard or it doesn't. Same goes for aust and nz safety standards. A example is AS/NZS 1698 https://roadsafety.transport.nsw.gov.au/stayingsafe/motorcyclists/motorcyclehelmets.html I'm quite happy to wear a new halmet on my motorcle that conforms to that Standard whether it cost $250 or $2500. My current helmet has a SAI Global sticker on it so obviously conforms to that standard. As for the star thing https://crash.org.au/ratings.php All those helmets still conform to the AS/NZS 1698 Standard but non seem to have gotten 5 stars overall, When you go to each helmet you will see a breakdown of each test and you will see 5 stars in various areas of protection which gives you an overall rating.

No dought the results will may shock some here but that is real data you are looking at.

We obviously know USA FAA standards have dropped because of the 737 Max saga.
