Name is Craig been relocated after offered a job in Nz to Wanganui. Had a R1 in South Africa. Just got myself a little kwaka to start over here again. Only a 250cc. Hopefully keep me out of trouble. Waiting for payday to do engine clearance etc. Hope it goes ok, last kwaka I had was a write off from being T-boned, hopefully luck is better here, but did my first acc claim in Wellington when a old man wrote off my scooter cutting lanes to ferry lol. Already been on kiwi tar.

Welcome to NZ and the forum :woohoo:
My little bike doesn't make more than the speed limit anyway, but with my car it is quite frustrating here, especially if you're used to higher or no speed limits. What's the speed limit like in South Africa?

60km/h in town 120km/h on highways but...........loads of side roads for getaways. That's why being on the back wheel 190km/h + going past a metro cop was a hobby. Buggers never caught me. You have too little options here for a getaway. Only ones you had too watch was ghost squad on a hayabusa. But cops suck at knee down there.

Just a zxr 250. Should be fun since I wrote off a zzr600 before my R1. Hope I don't write off this kwaka. So far only a scooter write off here in Nz. Trying to stay away from road rash.

Naaagh. Was T-boned by a women who cut across 4 lanes. Backed up a lot of traffic. Metro cops told the lady to shut up (Africa hey). Shame while I was waiting for ambulance my then 5 year old daughter was standing next to me holding my hand. Was on her way with her mother it nursery school. All fun. Trying to avoid that now. Body is getting older and tar harder.

Welcome to NZ. Don't like the sound of all the prangs, but am unfortunately aquainted with that aspect myself.
Stay upright mate - the odds don't favour us 2 wheelers when it all turns to custard.
Go well.

Any advise for insurance? I only paid $700 for bike so should I just get a 3rd party insurance?
