Hello all this is my first time to post here, so take it lightly on me if this question has been brought up..
Im not an old guy, but i do remember some stuff ages ago that you used to get in what was like a paint tin and it had a screen you could sink all yoursmall parts mainly carbs and then pull them up and they looked like new after a 24 hour period or maybe longer i dont know.... anyway I used to be able to get this stuff back in america and now that im here I really would like to clean some carbs on my old suzuki and re jet them. If its not available to get this stuff anymore or not at all in New Zealand, then what is a good alternative?? I was thinking maybe acetone or MEK? which I am also unaware of where to buy commercial grade stuff here?? Any suggestions??? Cheers

I'd also like to know if anyone has any advice on carb soaks...Best i could find was CRC aerosol, but that's not really the same.

Cheers man. Is it easy to find i.e. hardware stores, the warehouse, supermarkets? or is it more of a specialty product..

Baking soda in warm water. (Ask your mrs ... or look in the kitchen)
Citric acid (supermarkets sell it) in warm water. (A few $$)
Coca Cola. (cold)

I got some from the Four Square in Eketahuna once...
Boiling carbs in vinegar works to. Smells yuck and they don't taste that fantastic.

Some good homemade recipes there! Yep one reason i stay away from coca cola...
I'll give the white vinegar a shot first, also the baking soda sounds promising.
Usonic is meant to be the way to but i don't got one and i'm not at uni anymore so can't use theirs!
So far just been soaking parts in turps but i don't think its doing much..Maybe soak it in petrol and set it on fire to burn up all the crud? Probably leave carbon deposits everywhere...
Cheers all.
