Just when I have no money to spare and the weather is conducive to much riding, the tyres are phoobahed. Again.

I wonder if I could get some rich old lady to sponsor a new toyboy? Or is that wishful thinking at my age...she'd have to be damn old.

Better sell more of me vinyl disks instead.

Haven't been played in 30 years. Only ever played on the best gear - Thorens turntable, SME arm, ADC26 cartridge at 1gm...Cambridge amp, Tannoy 15 inch speakers...I was a hifi geek at one stage.

Nah, got over listening to the machinery years ago. Dunno what happened to the gear - lost in the mists of time...and divorce.

I'll put up a couple more offers next week.

I sold a bunch of my records years ago when I went to CD and I am now buying them all back again. Interesting to note that a secondhand LP has gone from $15 a couple years back to $30 today - same record, same condition.

Lots of rereleases too: I bought "Nuggets" over Christmas (on CD: it was $28 and the vinyl (double) was $48. The digital copy won out for its versatility: i.e. I wanted a digital copy.

I love buying new records that have a download coupon with them: The Toy Love live at the kings arms vinyl I bought last week had that :)

I am fucking tempted by those Led Zeppelin records. I've only got Physical Graffiti on vinyl, all the rest are CD and remasters. I am completely skint though: I've been buying Motocourses: the early ones are expensive.

Keep in touch if that one doesn't sell.

I don't obviously know your finances other than what you've written about here, but are you in a position to explore an option like a reverse mortgage to gain funds instead of selling things.

I have a set of S-20's waiting for me at Boyds. Eurotred very kindly offered me a discount on a set of these of which I have availed myself. Just need to find enough money to pay for them now. I could always spend the mortgage money I suppose but then I'd have no garage for the bike..

It'd take a couple weeks for the bank to catch up with you, at which time you will have the money back and you can say "wait, whut? O Noes, a cockup: here is the cash plus
$10 extra for your trouble good sir" :)

You did very well on your Led Zeppelin records. Sort of surprised the Floyd only went for $66. I guess the reissues on 180g vinyl are fairly readily available and Pink Floyd weens tend to be very ween-like and would have already bought the "special collectors edition of shit you already own, in fact you probably own four copies of it already, but this version has extra special clarity and you can clearly hear Roger Waters picking his nose and farting before picking up his bass on track 4", thus reducing the price of original pressings.

I still think their crowning achievement was "See Emily Play" followed closely by "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"

Don't worry, I'm as susceptible to it as anyone....

One of my all time favourites was Grantchester Meadows - probably because it was the first one I heard. But there are several that I would rank equally with that.

The first collection of Floyd I sold did better. But then, hey, I seem to remember paying less for them way back when so I don't really mind.

I'll have a dig and put up some more next week. Trouble is, what is left is probably less desirable anyway. Will see.
