Hi Guys,
New to Fourm, took the plunge and added an SXV550 for weekend hooning in Nelson. Should have the bike by the end of the month, I know and am prepared for the possibility of the maintinance shedule with these bikes, and plan to do basics myself but am looking for reccomendations for wrenchers in Nelson that may have experience in these bikes?

Everything I have read says that experience with these bikes is the most important thing, so heres hoping there is someone local :shifty:

Any other Motard or general riders in the richmond/Nelson area keen for some rides? Any other SXV/Motard owners just looking to swap bullshit & stories over a beer and talk about bike stuff?

Cheers
Brian

hey man

pm lostinflyz

he road races one, he has changed the frame and riding position etc

He has plenty of experrience pulling it to bits however and it sounds like the seal of the cases between the gearbox and motor is crucial and if its pre 08 (i think) the sealant is poos and wise to strip them down and re goo

The earlier ones have a tendancy to overheat the starter and burn it out if abused, the laterve a limit on how many sec the starter will run for to avoid the prob

I'm in nelson as well and have a ktm duke 690 (although the regos on hold so I'm riding the old 600 nail at the moment, pm if ya keen on some riding

Paul
