There's a beauty of a Rickman 650 Trumpet in this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWkQTbR_-xA

The Bonnie is nice but the Rickman really tickles my happy bits, nothing sounds like an old British twin winding through a canyon :)

I have few wants in life, but a big one is an RD400 to cafe.
Small, light, flickable, punches above it's displacement and lays sweet clouds of blue smoke everywhere you go...

Shit that's nice. The Harley cafe racer is a hard one to pull off properly, for every good one there are lots that just don't quite get it right but that one nailed it.
Lots of the Japanese custom builders do amazing Harleys, I would love to go over to Japan one year for the Mooneyes show.

Aaaah, the SR500 in the garage is calling me now! It needs clip-ons and rearsets and a racey tail section...

Edit: this one is grouse too, I would like to try making up a glass tracker style tail like that with the LED brakelight strip...

I like to think I have a modern cafe-esque bike and a cafe bike in my garage (I love being in my mind)

I reckon that 600 of yours is pretty neo-cafe/a little bit fighter. How's the firebreathing GN going?

Norton 750 cafe:

And a Goldwing cafe, because fuck common sense:

That Norton is beautiful!

Cheers, I think the Kawasaki has a cafe look to it, albeit modernised a little
I've been away for work since November (rally/milking cows...), so no progress, apart from eBay raping
I'll be back to it for a three week break in a few days though! :niceone: Trying not to buy something very cafe-racey while up in Tauranga though

I remember seeing a WLA done in a Featherbed frame in an Aussie mag with a twist it had ES2 Norton cylinders not a fan of wobbly ol Harley's but is was sure impressive as is that cafe one.

For me the two quintessential cafe bikes are a Triton with a 5 gallon Manx tank fly screen and conical hubs.

Or a RD400 with a coffin tank and def no fairings TZ or not..........

any 60 Ducati or other Italian with a jelly mold tank is also cool.

My ultimaste cafe racer would be a Morini 350 with wire wheels and drum brakes.
but different pipes seat and tank. More like the blue one. But the tank needs knee cut outs.

There's a cafe racer thread on "perth Street Bikes" (an aussie version of kiwibiker) thats been going for over 5 years now , about 400 pages long, pretty much anything thats shows up on bike exif , dime city, etc etc etc will be on there it's a good resource.

Here's a CB750 I put together about 4 years ago but never quite finished 276299, sold it to by a Guzzi (which I will never sell)

Oh Lordy the RDs are sweet bikes. I want one so bad. I got blown past by a guy on a 400 on the motorway a few weeks ago, left me behind in a cloud of delicious smoke and a cacophony like angry metal bees in a tin can....

I don't buy bike magazines anymore. I have an annual subscription to the UK Performance Bikes as an ongoing birthday present but that's it. Saw a magazine in the shops this week with a glorious looking orange Ducati on the cover. Bought the mag. Recommend that if you are into this thread you pop down the shops and have a read. I am actually inspired.

Can't link to the mag itself but it is featured here, along with a few page shots of some of the bikes - FTW magazine. (http://kevilsspeedshop.com/kevils-features-in-forever-two-wheels-ftw/)
