Not many people seem to know how to accurately read a plug these days eh?

I can tell by looking at that plug that you are soon going to meet someone special and you may be coming into money. Or the reverse. It,s hard to say. Also is there a John in the room?

reading plugs is not the be all and end all, how long are you going to spend at WOT..
this is something that a few offroad racers used to screw up at the taupo 1000..
used to tune for max HP @ WOT.. one of the main straights was 8kms long..
most would lean right out by the time they got to the end.. and pop....

Im going to go up one size in pilots then try the needles up one notch to see how it feels. She is lean a bit at idle and cruising. Ive got the pilot screws at 4.5 turns out.

Pilot screws won't change the cruise mix a heap.
Tried raising the fuel level? Cheaper than throwing pilots at it.
I never had to change pilots myself, what with altering floats and needles, I've always managed to avoid it and still had good AFRs on the exh gas anal-liza.

These things come from the factory stupid lean and once its got a higher flow intake and a can they need a bigger pilot. Going to try 2 sizes up bigger main. Just have to wait for my new carb syc tool etc to turn up.

Looks fine but you're wasting your time with this gas. Now that they're so disgustingly cheap, get one of these and know for sure http://www.plxdevices.com/product_info.php?id=WDBDSMAFR_DM6 I doubt it's stupidly lean through much of the range, you would notice that as a snatchy throttle which would piss you off no end.

The pilot screws only effect the slow running mixture.

That is ridonkulously cheap. Is that a brand you use? Will get one if the brand name is good. My exhaust system even has the fitting, but alas the one I had organised to borrow was broken.

Yeah, got a couple plugged into my logger. I've also got one of those Dynojet Wideband Commanders, and I'm pretty sure they use the exact same sensor (tbh I think all kits from anybody use the same sensor - they're made by Bosch). They'll sell you weld on fittings so you can fit it to all your toys :)

Pretty sure that is the same sensor part number I was using (or hoping to anyway) with the other kit. Might have to get an overpriced bung and plug for the next bike I need to use it on too.

It was stupid lean when I got it. But ive raised the needles, set pilot screws to 4.25 turns out and went bigger mains. Its a lot better. But still not right. it is still a little snitchy at low revs.
Now ive just landed my flash new right angle screw driver I can change the jets without pulling the carbs. Ive got the 17.5 pilots and bigger again mains so the fun will begin over the weekend.
I fitted new plugs and an 5 degree advancer last night and had to drop the idle speed today as it jumped up 500rpm.
Like the look of that gauge but my bike does not have a hole for it.

Any Autometer style gauge cup will be fine, I use one with the WBC. You can get them from Repco for bugger all.
