National Geographic had a "Megafactories" program on tonight that followed the development of the MV Agusta F3...very interesting, even for a bored old fart like me.

BUT. I'd sure like one of those for a week...so who's seen or ridden one, eh?

Might be an idea to wait untill year two, to see what the bugs and fixes are first.

The major bug facing MV Agusta is the worldwide failure by motorcyclists to get their name right. IT IS MV AGUSTA

And for the record there is no motorcyle manufacturer called March, June or October. Just like there is no Yuamaha, Huonda or Huarley Duavidson.

The poor low rev fueling bug was sorted within 2 months of release. I've done 12,000 trouble free kms in just over four months.

The 800 Brutale triple will be here soon and sounds like it will be awesome. Fortunately for me they are not bringing out a 800 F3.

It's comfy and frugal for a 600 sportsbike. It tours well. My best was 280km from a tank- a week of gentle riding and commuting mind you. At a more spirited pace I get 250 to 260km

On tour below and doing the sprints it did a 10.9s standing quarter in the rain and a true 254kph flying. Not bad for a three cylinder motor. The motor is a gem. The soul and character of the F3

Have you tried a 675R? If so, how does it compare, in your opinion? Handling, brakes and engine.

Thanks.

I've not ridden a 675R but I wrote a long F3 review here and I owned the standard Daytona 675 for 3 years, so I'm well placed to compare.

From what I've read the 675R has the best suspension over most bikes and I am working on getting my F3 set up right. I'd say out of the box the F3 would be faster on a smooth track but it needs some suspension tuning if faced with bumps.

I prefer the F3 engine, brakes and ergonomics and looks. The F3 counter rotating crank does seem to allow for easier, quicker turns. It just feels lighter

The F3 is the top of my "when I win Lotto" list. Love that thing, if it's nicer than a D675, it'll be perfect for me (I thought the Daytona was perfection)

Wanna bet? All that cheap rubbish from China has names that closely resemble the "real thing"
-ONLY correcting ya cos I'm seriously green with envy.
I don't often lust after a motorcycle but that 675 to me is just sex on wheels.
First one I saw in the flesh was in wellywood at new years. Mein gott that is one sayxy bike.
Homologation would make it a multi class bike too --BILLY say BILLY

Loving my F3, really starting to gell with it now, and what a machine it is! I'm no super experienced road racer, so i can't comment on things like cutting edge handling and the posting of record low laptimes. What I can say however is that i've never had a bike that gets under your skin quite like the F3 (and i've had a few bikes :shifty:) Yes it's not perfect, hell no bike is, but all those initial reports of rubbish fuelling down low and now pointless, mine has been faultless from day 1. Little tricky to launch compared to my old jappa 600, but hell who really cares??? But it makes up for any small shortcomings in so many ways. It feels magical on the road, so light and nimble. And the sound it makes is something else, nothing at all like the Triumph 675, far more guttural, some may say it sounds rough and unfinished, but they haven't taken it north of 10k rpm :shit: and even on a closed throttle its just mmmmmmmm :msn-wink:
It's the kind of bike you can just walk down to the garage and end up staring at for quite some time, cleaning it is always a pleasure rather than a chore, and any excuse for a ride, even a short one, is grabbed at! The missus can attest to this
I'm usually one to change my bike every year, but i can say now quite confidently that the F3 will be with me for a long time to come (hmmm unless they do bring out the 800 version)
I do believe if you are in the market for a new sportsbike, go and take one of these for a spin, I do believe a few dealers have a demonstrator.

Hell ride it even if you arn't buying :Punk:
