Have emailed the Strady top town place.
Hoping to secure one of those purdy single cottages, wit the hanging flower baskets out front:love:
List of things to get organised, (like actually paying skant attention to the XRL), has begun.
Too early to talk about required tyres?:dodge:

Tyres will depend entirely on what air pressure you want to run in them and your preffered chain lubricant :bleh:

Quite some years ago me and a mate were riding at a sedate sensible speed coming back towards Waverly on gravel and what should pop around the corner.:shit: The local copper. We did what we could to move over, he dived for his side of the road. We didnt look back:scooter::scooter: Next turn, that was us. get out of Dodge

More than likely a starter. Got a D606 with plenty of knobs left from the last" Liquifaction event" waiting for just such a ride.
Might stay Taumaranui Friday night so only have to take a couple hours away from work. Then early start, via Pipiriki to Aramahoe in the morning.

Anyone got a spare bunk for Saturday night, before I start searching....

I am drifting towards to the "not going to make it column".
But if the Austrian couriers rush my bike bits over here then I might be a last minute starter.
Will be tenting so no sweat with the accommodation.

What time will you orrible naki lot be travelling through Stratford.

Was thinking of meeting up with you at the Z service station, as we are staying both nights at Stratford.

Tyres ...... I have decided to run with the 2/3rds worn knobbly i have on the back at the moment since Colin promised it is going to be dry.:sunny::sunny::sunny:

Phil, its a shame that Dawn is not coming as Faye was looking forward to having a wine with her on Saturday night.:drinknsin

Ps..... I will bring a new tyre down with me just in case i need to change it on the saturday night, Colin has been known to tell porkies before :spanking:

I've got the XR in it's dry weather settings based on Colin's advice..... course the wet weather settings consist of an unwashed air filter

Figured worn tyres will make it (even)more interesting in the dry :)

p.s. Colin a new handicap system does apply so you'll need to strap a case of that excellent Sentry Hills port to the WR  I'll buy a couple bottles off u in T'nui to lighten your load home

Thanks heaps for organizing this one. Even though I only did the first day, I think that I'll still have to empty the air filter box. Was the dust just as bad on day two?

It was great to meet you guys, looking forward to Taranaki liquefaction.

It was still dusty on the roads but the offroad sections weren't deep "dust liquifaction" like the road to Earnies. I had an awesome dust free run through Aotuhia Stn, but then again I was leading. :2thumbsup. Dustiest ride I have been on.
