I'm looking for an Auckland group to ride with

Hi There,

I am new to Auckland and have just gotten my bike back together (2010 KTM 300 exc). I am looking for people to go riding with on some trail rides and maybe the odd cross country race.

Ideally looking for like minded professional fella's 30-40yrs that are medium to fast. I used to race but haven't been on the bike for a couple of years and am a bit fatter... so quite probably slower than i used to be.

I have a trailer and live around One Tree Hill area. I find trail rides pretty social so hate/wont go riding by myself, I much prefer to car pool.

Hey I think I might well fit the bill i.e. 39, fat, fastish on a good day, but definitely not one of the proper fast ones. I also find riding a social thing and lost a good riding buddy after he quit, sold up and bought a bloody kart instead (so could do with replacing him).

I'm out west, only issue is I'm sans bike transport, thanks to some pricks stealing my ute before Xmas, but that will be rectified shortly. Going to Kimmy's on the 9th Feb with another ride buddy (if plans don't change), so if you're free come down and say hello.

Riverhead this friday 3.00pm onwards... the Waitemata clubs avo rides sound a bit like you, interesting courses with enough of a challenge to suit anyone and a group of "mature" riders usually. If you get there I'm on an 07 450 six days, usually stuck somewhere and looking totally incompetent.
The sandpit is also not a bad way to meet like minded riders and a good work out in sand.

Dome may still be open this sunday. Apparently they've done something to the enduro track too. Might be worth a look. If it is open we'll go..and be packing the ezy-up and a chillybin full of ice!

aah yeah Tawny mentioned it yesterday, oh well next week there should be plenty of rides to choose from....unless the rain absolutely pours down and the rides are closed due to too much water! (go easy on the rain dancing pocahontas!)
Might be a good day to go out on the waitemata instead
