hi all, coming back into the riding fold after many many years away. I had my Bike license in the states 14 years ago and never renewed it........until now.

so now I have to start all over again, but cant wait to get back to it.

I just complete RoadSafe's Basic handling Skills coarse last Sunday in the hutt, now I am on the hunt for a 400 - 600cc bike to ride.

Anyway, just wanted to say HI and I look forward to riding.....

Honda NV400SP 1988

Suzuki GSX400 EH 1987

Kawasaki ZZR400 1987

Yamaha XJ600 1988

I dont have a lot of money to spend atm, and I want to buy good protection so I am spending most of my money there.

Anything will do, if it is what you want and it is comfortable. What is your budget? What kind of riding are you looking at doing? You had your licence in the states, what did you ride there?

Well I am primarily going to ride back and forth to work, I live just 25 km north of wellington so I am looking to commute, but I also want to ride with others locally, like Wairapa and joy rides like that, I am not looking to ride to Taupo or Auckland, or anywhere long long trips.

I had bikes in the states since my early teens, mostly dirtbikes, huskies mostly, but I rode a 600 ninja and CB750F for many years in Boston Mass but have not ridden since, and that was um 15+ years ago, yikes! lol

Got a 97 Kwaka ER 500 you might talk me into letting go of for that money ! Mrs has decided she aint really into riding and don't commute ! Prefers to go pillion so it's surplus to requirements now !

Not doing a sales pitch, but at 90 kg and having ridden 600 750s in the past, a 250 might be a bit of a let down for you once you've been riding a while again !

Im around a similar height but alittle lighter then you

if you want alittle bit of a longer test ride im happy to meet you somewhere and you can ride the bike and ill just follow you in your car? flick me a pm and ill give you my number

I commute from pram to wellington 110km round trip on the motorway no issue

Apart from the fact I find the wind alittle annoying (you shouldnt have as much issue) its pretty good on petrol and gets me around ok

While I would like a bigger bike im glad I went with the 250 to start with again as its meant I can ease back into it

I was the one watching. If it was you in the jacket, again good choice, my daughter's arms are badly burnt. Not the courses fault, this is not a bitch just a comment to one who was their in case anyone else thinks I am having a go at the guys running the course.

join in on some of the games like association pictures, build up your posts then the ability to PM will automagically appear as your level changes.

Yes, her and boyfriend, I think they tested and past around 5pm, all 5 of you on the course past. Think you were first tested and out of there and they were last.

wow, ya I was the first to go, luckily. I know they wanted to keep her around to give her another chance, you should know she was the talk of the town with all the other participants that were there, the ones that were there in the morning beginners session all said how impressed they were with her about how much she had improved and we who just saw her from the later session thought she had improved greatly. you should pass that on to her please, everone was pulling for her whether they said so to her or not.
