Brilliant thanks George, reminds me of the mad (but bloody good fun) things we used to do on trollies, boards etc.

Great sound track too, "Blame it on my A.D.D"...

Had a red devil board that used to be great for that, until I hit the side of a garage at warp speed and put my teeth through my lip.:Punk: We didnt need no knee pads either.:Punk: Used to like that song too, but it seems to be on way too many youtube vids these days.

Nice smoooooth road surface - I'm pickin' it's nowhere near here (obviously, the giveaway is no long-travel suspension on the board)...and:

Ah yes, them's were the days's...

I think that is somewhere in NZ? Dunedin? Those boards have 2 central free castering wheels[like the front wheels of a super market trolly] enabling those rad turns. My boy rides them.

My old stomp'n ground was Hipango Tce in Wanga's on a lazy Sunday sometimes.

I keep thinking it's got to have been the car that set the camera off.

Still meant the skater was doing the speed though...

And now comith the fine:

In short...
Cape Town's safety and security spokesman Jean-Pierre Smith said Lourenco was putting other road users at risk.

Smith said he had asked the Director of Public Prosecutions to charge the skater with reckless and negligent road behaviour.

"If we don't take action against him, every other aspirant skateboarder will try it and one of them will come to a sticky end"

The Riders view:

Lourenco told the Telegraph he ticked all the safety boxes - choosing a quiet day and wearing a helmet and gloves.

"I accept that it's dangerous but so is stepping out of my front door," he said.

"I skate down that road all the time and was skating well within my limitations."

Roll credits.
...and send that man some Govt issue bubble wrap!...he's just been having far too much fun for free.

The British version (Bournemouth Council) of deterring longboarders is to work on putting abrasives on the road.

It's a part of a theory referred to a CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) - the trouble is that skating is not a great causal factor in crime, but it always make great press for local body govt.

Sigh

Typical. You'd think they could at least try to accommodate the Longboarders activity with an alternative as well though.

Who said anything about building a special road? I wrote about trying to accommodate the longboarders which could mean other things like holding closed road sessions for example.
