Help needed for Yamaha 40 1991
Misses and doesn't have any power in the top 3rd of the rev range / throttle.
managed to establish I don't have a fuel or spark problem.

The CDI unit on the side reads (left pic) at idle and (right pic) at 3/4 - wide open throttle.
Is the timing being over or under advanced because someone has set the CDI up at the wrong setting?
Is the Top mark the mark it should sit at when you are cruising ( on the plane ) or is it the most it should advance the timing ?

good luck bro(ette)!

i've got a sneaking suspicion you're going to want to check your timing the old fashioned way. at idle, from there it should be sweeeeeeeeeeet.

well its not a 1940 yamaha coz they only started in 1954
YA-1 built August 1954, produced January 1955. The first bike manufactured by Yamaha; it had an air-cooled, two-stroke, single cylinder 125 cc engine
