It's been closed for years, you just go around (or under) the closed bit. For a cockie your a bit slow, mate!

That's been like that for a long time DJ. You can only access it now thru the Hira forest, however only generally at weekends & you really need a guide to get to the caretakers hut. if you want a guide we could prob lead you over this weekend.

we went down the bach in the hols at Port Underwood. I went for a ride up & across to see how far north I could get -hoping to get to the edge of Tory channel as there is am access road to the last baches. Unfortunately the track turned too steep for me on my own but the North island was so bloody close I reckon I could have swum it.

Don't get your udders in a tangle Jamie, last time I was there and it was closed I approached the owner (Council) and got permision to cross, since then it has been generally open to bikes. I also have respect for private property... you owe me a beer! :sunny:

The track is in pretty good condition bar the fist sized rocks scattered everywhere.
Some growth starting to creep in from the sides.

Basically looks like there's been no work done on it for the last 12 months.

Still some sections where there's orange tape poking up through the middle of the track.
