Well, after such a fun Saturday I thought I would wash the crap off the bike and rest on Sunday. This morning went to get on the bike and go to work and nothing :( Just the headlight dims when I press the starter. Slapped it in gear and rocked it, then tried again...nada. I think she's just pissed off that I didn't ride her again on Sunday.
Put the battery on charge during the day in case I'd left the ignition on so it was fully charged when I got home from judo training. Still nothing....didn't get any life when I tried a jump start down the drive.
I'll say my prayers tonight and see if that does the trick, otherwise I need to work out why she no go....or pay a mobile mechanic with the right tools to sort it whilst I play with computers during the day.
On the good side...the suspension is still great ...feels really compliant when I jump on the seat for a bump start

Hopefully, a new battery will fix your woes :scooter:

Or buy this to find the problem:

Better strategy than buying new bits until it starts working again  :innocent:

Got water into the kill switch?
Quite possibly the answer!
BUT if you still have the original battery, it's about due!
Get one of those cheap Chinese GEL ones.
Had mine 3 years - better cranking power and it doesn't lose charge

Cheers for the responses....will have a good look tonight...water in killswitch is probably best bet as there's not even a click and it doesn't jump start.

I first thought starter or solanoid problem , water in the kill switch wouldn't effect a normally closed circuit ?
Dimming headlight says it's sucking juice but not cranking, but then a jump start didn't work ?
Side stand or clutch switch ? But then why the dimming light, if it was either of them the circuit is open and no power to the start button ?
Crickey i want to tear into it now hehe
A jump pack to check it aint a rooted battery but if it has lights it should at least click ?
Hmmmm
Lead to the solanoid or starter shorting to the body ? Would that stop a crash start ?

Has it got a clutch micro switch like a normal suzuki? Check that. Mine got a grass seed jammed between the contacts and wouldnt start. You can just pull the plug out and bridge it with a piece of wire.

:psst: Simon, get some Motomuck (from any good bike shop) decant into a spray bottle, spray every part on your bike, wait 10 minutes and wash off with a hose, your bike will love you for it.
If you missed any spot, repeat step one.

All sorted....a clear mind. No, Oh shit I'm gonna be late (again) for work(and I'm barely out of bed and awake), or I'm really tired and I'm ready for bed. Time to diagnose and fix bike.
Turned ignition on. Bike in neutral. Turned on kill switch "Chec" displayed on dash, turn it off, check condition clears. Kill switch ok.
Went to clutch, removed rubber boot, followed wire along bar, found disconnected connecter. Plugged in. Pulled in clutch, press start, She Lives!! It looks a daft place to fit the connector and it's really easy to disconnect it. Will fix that later.
Sadly doesn't need a new battery 18 months from new
