Anyone else's email got hacked?

damn hackers! for those who know me, i was advised by the google team that someone had tried to access my email account - thankgod for a good password (now changed!) so if any dribble turns up in your inbox titled "Hey" or something similar please delete it...

The bastards got me. Spammed everyone on my contact list. Telecom says that you shouldn't open any suspicious emails ( I didn't ) and make sure your security is up to date (always is ).
Telecom and Yahoo suck balls.

i dont know why it happened to me because im with Gmail.... is it possibly because we have an account with telecom and my brother has an email account with Yahoo...

oh well, ive warned all my contacts because ive had a few sus emails from them aswell.... pays to keep an eye on things doesnt it...

Change to Gmail. It's free, reliable and accessible from any web device anywhere, unless one happens to be contracting at a government department with a ludicrously strict firewall policy.

I have no idea why people persist using email accounts serviced by their ISPs. I know why ISPs offer this service, it makes it hard for people to switch. But it's no benefit whatsoever to their client.

Our mailwasher bounces any .mail account.

I have never had a problem with crap getting through from xtra, I guess it because it goes through two washing programs, a virus check and two firewalls.
Not that I'm paranoid.

Oh and I can access my account anywhere as well it's called web mail and its free.

Yep ... and about to change passwords shortly. Changing it using a different device though. No point changing it on the PC of there's a keystroke logger on the PC ...

I've had both Gmail accounts compromised before, but Gmail seems to have good processes in place now to regain control.

Best is to have good passwords and change regularly.
