Anyone here know anything about expired licences? According to my licence it expires sometime in 2015.

But I got pulled over at a check point last night after a beer (well under the limit) and the nice policeman ran my licence. It came back as my 1L being expired and my 6F being fine.

What's the deal with that? Surely when I got my 6F they would have changed the expiry date on the 1L as well.

no they only got intelligence & made it that way last year, but the expiry should be that which is printed on the licence. So if it's 2015 printed on you licence/ID then 2015 it should be!

Your 6F is ok ... you just need to renew your 1L. You should have sat and passed (or renewed) it before it expired. You may need to resit the 1L. (or just pay for renewal)

Phone LTNZ.

No ... you only have limited periods to reach the next stage of your license. (but can renew it for a fee ) Part of the license fee is the reprinting of your new license with class new expiry date.

you might wanna supply a source for that. They're planning on brining in timed licences, but as yet timed licences do not exist to my knowledge & I sat on a learners for somewhere in the vicinity of 8-10yrs

The OP might want to look at his license ... the expiry dates are clearly stated on it. As he has found from his "conversation" with the Police.

This topic has already been discussed on KB to great length. Nothing new about license class expiry dates varying ... YOU hit the search button.

Definitely says 13-10-2015 on there.

Although if you turn it over (as I just found online) there is a part for L and R licences that show an expiry date for each of these. So 2 months ago my 1L expired. Never mind, never wanted to learn to drive a car anyway.

Check at a license testing place. Maybe just a fee needing paid to renew it.
