Is he talking about this one?

http://www.stuff.co.nz/motoring/bikes/8314956/Harleys-hog-birthday-limelight

You can see at the end the group is pulling left but the front dude (who is in the middle of the road at this point) is indicating right?

Why is that a problem? being in that position means he is placed for the best forward visibility as well as within the site line of any oncoming traffic.

Big deal. Someone indicated wrong and two others didn,t indicate. People expect bikes to indicate badly. Bike riders expect cars to indicate badly. Makes you more careful doesn,t it?
Who hasn,t ridden for literally miles with an indicator on?

And forcing other (much wider) vehicles well over to their side, and those white lines are slippery doncha know!

Not on the white line, next to it, you can always pull further in to your lane for safety as any oncoming vehicles approach.

Granted, not so easy if you are riding the Chips method down the road though

Not needed on urban stuff regardless, maybe open raod but I'd still be in the rhs wheel track as it clearer of debri (except when tar bleeding). And the plonker didn't pull in when a car came past btw...

Modern Harleys have self cancelling indicators I believe.

Why is that a problem?

Did you notice the rider tight in on his left hand side?

Did you notice the on-coming vehicle?

The guy (i'm assuming it was Josh Kronfeld) placed himself in a position with next to no available manoeuvring space.

Granted, however being near the centre line was not in and of itself an issue. the lack of available manoeuvring space was, that means he was unable to drift move away from the centre line.

He placed himself in a place of danger ( as near as he could to oncoming traffic, The closer you get the higher the risk) as represented by the center line, without means of an exit.

Its definitely a factor.

Personally, when I ride, I own the road, wont let any cunt box me in, and I take all the available space on either side.

I'm still a shit rider, dangerous as fuck, poorly skilled, But I'm righteous.

Yep.
My point was that it is entirely common to see a bike indicating with no intention to turn.
Subsequently, most people would be looking for something more than just an indicator flashing before pulling out. I know when I am on a bike I do not assume that any vehicle with it,s indicator on is actually turning until I see evidence such as, beginning the turn or moving into the turn only lane and slowing down. Just self preservation I guess

Best you stay away from the To clean or not to clean, thread. Over there if you don,t clean your bike before, during and after you ride, then you are not fit to be called a motorcyclist and your bike is automatically an old fucked piece of junk.

Hey .. what you got against Suzuki ('cept for the fact that our bikes are faster than yours .. )

And there's just so much wrong in that clip .. apart from the fact that Josh appears to have forgotten to turn his indicator off after a right hand turn, and then forgotten to indicte the left hand turn .. but hey - rudgy players do not have to be intellegent ...

YES!!! Anyone who can't see that riding too far to the right is an issue in that clip is blind and should not be on the road on two wheels ...

It was probably not helped by the rider on the inside ... who should not have been there ... and took up the space the outside bike should have been in ...

I would not want to be anywhere near that bunch on the road .. which is why I frequently pass Harleys ... out of sight and not in a place where I will have to pick up any resulting mess ..

How True. I met some really great folks at the HOG Rally. Champion blokes. While I was wearing a Harley jacket and boots.

The one before that I met up some great folks at a Triumph RAT Night - In a Triumph Jacket, and maybe gloves.

The Suzuki Boulevard rally I had the Tee shirt, but lots of blokes had big Suzuki Jackets, guess what! - some real nice folks there too.

Honda Riders club - ditto.

They is just folks doing what they enjoy doing.

A Harley Jacket is actually the 'best' in my large collection.
I get given them for my gig. I have maybe...10 at the moment. Different makes and climates.

The coolest one I have by far is the James Dean Triumph in a distressed leather, but as for functionality it's the H-D unit.

Very heavy leather - top abrasion co-efficient, excellent venting, best armour, built in back protector, waterproof - NZ waterproof, phone and MP3 player provision, outstanding draft exclusion, reasonably understated logos become hi-vis reflective in headlights, beautifully lined and extremely comfortable.

It's quite outstanding.

Stepping out after the ride - It's the James Dean sans furry collar.

Edit - Yeah - I know a pyjama and robe type. I take the piss too, but you know what - it makes him happy.
