Attending the orientation for my course at university today and took the bike there since I don't have id for the buses yet. Went to go back to the flat, woah and behold theres a piece of paper in the handlebars. Apparently the wind had blown it over.

Helmet took a fair bit of damage, gouges here and there, and the front brake lever snapped, and the indicator lens screw holes are broken, so its held on with tape for now. Other than that, the bike got off scott free. Paint job is intact and all that. Must be a sign to replace the helmet.......

What a great way to start 2013. :killingme

Not to mention, the wof is in 3 weeks.

And that's why we don't leave them attached to our bike.

That is, essentially, not my problem.

Well, on the bright side it didn't fall over onto anything, if it hit a Bros it might have cost ya!

Either get that sidestand sorted, or use the road camber to put a bit more lean on it, now that I know how heavy it is I might leave it lying down next time :bleh:

Wonder if the wind had four wheels and a bumper at each end.

Sounds like the sort of thing I'd do.

I've always wondered what it would look like as a cafe though. Probably a fair bit of fabrication for a streetfighter, which is out of my league by faaaaar.

Guy that picked it up commented on how heavy is was. Compared to a CR125 of all things

Sorting the sidestand sounds like a good idea, there arent any brake levers in NZ, so I have to scoure fleabay for some. So replacing one every time this happens is gonna be hella time consuming.

Maybe the guy knocked it over and is using the wind as a scapegoat.....seems like something I would do.... :2thumbsup

Well, he certainly wouldn't go dropping his roadbike, so wouldn't have a comparison to draw with that...

Are they quite an uncommon design brake lever? often there's generic one you can pick up for a lot cheaper that'll do the trick.

He said that he'd still end up having to source one from overseas. So it would be better to go on Fleabay and try to find one.

Edit; The only real difference being price.

Doesn't as bike usually fall down on it's LHS? Then the clutch lever would usually be the one that breaks? Your bike must have fallen up over being upright to land on it's RHS.

It happened when I had the GN aswell. Fell over onto its RHS and broke the brake lever. I must have a really skewed sense of where to park the bike, Or Mother nature is a bitch and out to get me....
