I went up to Paeroa on Saturday afternoon for the ‘ Paeroa battle of the Streets’ races. This day consisted of signing in and scrutineering.
I headed back up early on Sunday morning to Paeroa to be there in time for the riders briefing.
Last time I raced in the Paeroa Battle of the streets, I had a crash which meant I was not able to participate in any other races. So this time I wanted to be careful and have a smooth day with no accidents.
The weather was hot and sunny which meant the track was dry. The day started with a sighting session and two practise sessions which also counted as qualifying races. In the practices overall, I placed 16th and had a fastest lap time of 57.6 seconds.
In the first race I placed 14th with a fastest lap time of 55.7 seconds. I had a good battle with a Ducati near the end of the race and managed to stay just a wheel in front over the finish line. In the final race I placed 14th with a fastest lap time of 55.6 seconds.
This was a really enjoyable weekend and I hope I will be racing it again next year.
