I can remember spectating at night with the group b beasts spitting fire & rocks as they hurtled through Kielder forest. Epic.:headbang:

That prelude I'm building is basically trying to emulate these old beasts. 2wd with some ridiculous horsepower. I love group B and will have one even if it's something I made in my garage.

Pukekohe I see has E85 at the pump now, potential for massive boost on high compression. Could make 500hp on that stuff without blinking.

I was lucky enough to spectate on night stages in Kielder forest in the north of England, middle of the night, freezing cold, hundreds of pobbly hatted rally geeks stood in the middle of nowhere waiting in their "Rothmans" puffa jackets. You knew a car was coming when the sky would light up intermittently in the distance, then you would register a banshee shriek, like the devil out for a jaunt, then the backfires, sporadic artillery. Then whoosh, one of them would come screaming past, scrabbling all over the gravel like a demented thing, fist sized rocks clattering off the floor pan shields & sconing the odd spectator. Gone in seconds. After the spectator laughter & gasps subsided the forest around you came back into quiet focus until the sky lit up again.
After the group B cars somebody would come past in an Escort at what seemed a glacial pace.
